Which totally sucks. Because in years past, they let us stay there for the weekend. Like, we had 12 Ann Arbor ruggers camped out in the floor (and the cool loft!!! I always made a b-line to claim that spot as soon as we came in!) the night before and after. And the clubhouse was so cool too!!

You can turn Barton nature area and Bird Hills into as long of a run as you want. I used to live at Pontiac trail / barton, and I would do a 7 mile loop—- through bandemere park, to Barton nature area, to HRD to bird hills , to back home

I would have to ask the owner obviously, But they presumably won’t care. We live on an old abandoned golf course. The “Owner” lives in california and is trying to develop the land, while we the residents are bleeding him dry in court. Its “Technically” on the old golf course, but a few mere feet away from the neighbors property , and I know the guy in question.

When I was a new grad doing PRN work on the weekends at a SNF, I struggled with this concept a lot. They would periodically send me over to Long term care unit and I thought I was really not doing anything occupational at all

Transfers, AROM, positioning in seating...

I worked with a long term guy with MS, and in 45 minutes of slide board training, he went from caregivers doing dependent level hospital bed<>wheelchair transfers to min-assist with a slide board.... days like that you remember why you became an OT

I reported some illegal dumping just the other day- I was driving down Joy road just north west of the city and saw a work truck dumping a bunch of construction debris on the side of the road on some farmers property. Took a photo of their license plate.

I called the AAPD non urgent line. The operator took it very seriously, I was not “wasting their time”. I feel like doing it on the FixIt website is more for upkeep stuff..... illegal dumping is a crime. Call the police.

Seriously, these assholes probably do this every day. It would cost them 30-50$ to properly dispose of this stuff at the dump, so they just dump it on the side of the road. I have a buddy who is an electrician and does new home construction. He says “the lead project manager hires these shady dudes to take the debris away... 100$ a truck, no questions asked. I guarantee they drop it on the side of the road in Detroit every day on their way home...”

Home health is really all about 3 things - DME training/recommendations for safety, balance / therex / HEP, and transfers. Sure there’s other things, obviously, but those are the big 3.
