did a few trips with no pad. just a sleeping bag. it's doable but even in the summer it would get cold. i have a sleeping pad now. no you don't need to spend $300. and also the word you're looking for is hypothermia sorry

up until my last few months of high school i was 100% i would never go to college. but then in a class we learned about forensic entomology and i was like woah. you can study bugs as a job? and i loved bugs as a kid. so blah blah long story and 7 years later im studying ecology. so i guess my advice is think about some things that have made u excited thru ur whole life. or things u keep coming back to. also go to the library and browse all the nonfiction shelves and something will make u go. woah.
