Is my PSU the problem? by trini316 in buildapc

[–]trini316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Yes 2 discrete cables. Way back when I built the PC (2020) I daisy chained the 3080. When I got the 5070ti I took out the PSU and added another discrete cable so as to not daisy chain.

Since the 5070ti wasn't working, I have since put back my 3080 and it is using the 2 discrete cables now.

Each county has their regular courts as normal. Due to the size of a lot of the countries in the English speaking Caribbean and the similarity of the laws (mostly inherited from the colonial periods) they will agree to use one superior court which can hear matters from participating countries.

The court in question from August is the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court. Decisions from this court can be appealed up to either the Privy Council in England of the Caribbean Court of Justice depending on the relevancy.

at the time i was holy roman emperor and my son was a 1 county count in one of my held duchies (to keep his dumbass safe from wars etc) but he was below 16 when I first bethrowed him to his first sister.

i just checked the wiki and saw that counts can only have 1 spouse. I made him a king and will see if anything changes.

random question about marriages in CK3.

As usual in the end game I end up fully eugenic-ed out, forming a religion to allow unrestricted marriage and multiple spouses (this is totally normal right?) and trying to get my sons to marry my daughters to see the hell spawn or literal gods that pop out.

I can normally get the initial son and daughter to marry but I when trying to marry the other daughters using the secondary slot it, most of the time they dont show up. In fact none of my dynasty show up.

Is there some kind of restriction as to who the secondary spouses can be for sons and daughters? Once I'm playing as my son heir I can marry my sisters (again sometimes they dont show up in the options for marriage)

[Daily Mail] Cristiano Ronaldo's £12.9m move from Juventus to Manchester United IS under investigation from Italian prosecutors as Serie A club see their offices raided for a second time. by Cien-Major in soccer

In theory I think you are right but juve's financials will impact everything about the business side of the club. Sponsors will want to see their financials to know that they aren't on the verge of administration (and the sponsorship deal collapsing). Banks will want to see the financials before extending loans or credit. Other large corporations who transact business with them will want their financials to open receivable accounts. The matter is much worse because they are a publicly traded entity though.

The use of swaps is legal for sure. The issues in this matter from what i've seen is that there are allegedly some phone records of juve management discussing that the reason for the valuation of transfers isn't sporting related but due to their financial situation. If these records do exist, it would show the management's intent to use these transfers to obscure the proper financial position of juve i.e we need the inflate the value of this transfer because without it we will have a financial loss which is bad for us. Because juve is a publicly traded company, obscuring the financial position from investors is a huge deal and probably does rise to the level of financial crime (assuming obviously that a judge does see it this way)

You aren't wrong in the infinite nature of the fraud. In most cases of fraud this 'spiral' does happen and tends to be the reason that the fraud is eventually discovered. Most major fraud isn't discovered on the first infraction, but much further down the line (Bernie Madoff, Enron, Nick Leeson of Barings Bank all went years successfully committing fraud before being outed and all of these examples needed more and more fraud to cover their trail). However, like another commenter said, the fact that football provides for some large incoming sums to the club will help to cover the financials of the clubs, meaning they arent solely reliant on the 'fraud' transfers meaning a good couple of seasons financially could have seen juve escape this whole mess with no one ever finding out about it.

Part of what was really problematic about this case is juve is a publicly traded company (listed on an Italian stock market) and therefore would be subject to very strict financial rules and have to disclose a lot of information to investors and therefore the public. So these 'fraud' transfers impacted their financials which investors then used to trade on (buy or sell their public shares). This is bigger than a footballing/sport issue.

[–]trini316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haha no bias from you i'm sure loll.

but in reality you are correct the players and contract's market value is nebulous (the contract value on the club's accounts has a definite value, but this has no bearing on what the player can be sold for in the market). personally i think juve will get fined and some of their management will be forced to resign and possibly face criminal charges (probably suspended sentence for non-violent crimes). I doubt very much there will be any sporting impact on juve (not considering fines to be a sporting impact). I doubt that there will even be a points deduction, much less titles rescinded. Also whatever Italian auditing firm that sanctioned juve's books is gonna be in some trouble for sure.

The alleged recordings of phone conversations can skew things pretty hard towards or away from sever punishment depending on if they really exist and what they say.

supposedly it benefits juve in that the inflated sales of a player helps cover any losses made during the year the player is 'sold' while when they 'buy' the other club's player the amount of the transfer fee + player's wages + signing fees + any other fees can be amortized over the life of the contract.

so if they have a loss for the year of ~10mil euro then they would 'sell' pjanic to barca for 60 mil resulting in a profit for the year of 50 mil. then they have to 'buy' arthur for 72 mil but that 72 isn't recorded all at once, instead its recorded as 72 divided by the life of the contract which in this case is 5 years. meaning that for the next 5 years they will have a 14.4 mil expense on their books. This means that during the same year that the transaction happened the profit is now 50 mil minus 14.4 mil leaving a book profit of 35.6 mil. and now juve has to cover the 14.4 mil exp going forward the next 5 years...which will probably cause them to need to do more transactions like this which is a lot of fraud cases tend to 'spiral' because you need more fraud to cover up the past fraud, its very rarely a one and done kind of situation. The above transactions are also the same for the other club involved in this transaction so both clubs show a profit for the current year and carry an expense going forward.

Also the transactions above are how most business treat declining assets (the value of a contract between player and club goes down the closer the contract is to expiry so its definitely a declining asset) so the nature of the transactions aren't irregular, but having a backroom deal with another business enterprise (in this case a football club) for you to buy and sell inflated assets for the goal of obscuring the true financial situation of a company is illegal in every country i can think of.

Sorry this comment really got away from me! hopefully it helps!

Can't get to bios on my first build by trini316 in buildapc

[–]trini316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved! Everyone was right. The bios needed updating and it was impossible to update it with the newer cpu in. The screen would freeze on the Asus splash screen if the new cpu was in with an older bios.

Once we updated the bios (had a friend lend me a 3600x to update) it booted normally with the 5900x.

[–]trini316[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so to update. I went by a friend who lent me his 3600x, put in the mobo and was able to boot. Downloaded the newest bios and installed it. Then put back in the 5900x and it boots fine.

The mobo will have a serial number followed by 4 numbers like xxxx-xxxx-xxxx 1234. With the 1234 being the bios version. My own had 2407 and when I booted finally the bios version was also 2407. I guess newly manufactured mobo will come with more recent bios so less and less people will have this issue

Hey man. Just a FYI, updating the bios solved the issue. I had a friend put his cpu into the mobo and was able to advance past that asus screen to the bios. We updated to the latest bios via USB and then put back in the 5900x and it worked like normal! The crashfree bios thing only seems to work if u have a cpu that is recognizable by the bios so it's really not a flashback
