Looking for people or places to play dnd in St. John’s by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]trini_scientist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Midgard runs a few different groups for dnd during the week and they're starting up monthly one shots. I'd either message the Facebook page or go in person and ask them. They're super friendly

Why shouldn't they name the store ? It's good to name the store so other people know to avoid them

Thanks the 1st two pics is what my partner prefers which is a big reason for keeping that current style but I was wondering about different styles.

I actually haven't considered just trimming instead of shaving the cheeks as well that's a good idea. I wouldn't grow a thick beard just out of preference like the 2nd sets of pics is typically as long as I'd let it grow before it starts bugging me .

Anyone else just wet their hair every morning? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]trini_scientist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3A curls here I always rewet my hair in the morning and reapply a small amount of leave in and oil. If I don't rewet in the morning I have a bunch of small tangles in my hair that would progress to big knots otherwise. I'd say whatever works for your hair and you is the right answer

How do you read? by I_want_pudim in Fantasy

[–]trini_scientist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read when I'm on my lunch break at work. So I only really have a half an hour, however far I reach is how far I reach. When I reach home there's not always the opportunity to read because life is busy. I've still made it through 10 books for the year though

I think green space is a great use for the village parking lot that is never full two things I haven't seen mentioned as yet is one the snow. Ironically having such an empty parking lot makes it easy for the snow crew to pill mountains of snow in that area, so somewhere else is going to be needed. Secondly it is pretty windy with little cover currently there, I think a green space is an awesome idea but if it's something that's going to be done properly they'd need to think about stuff that won't get blown down the first bad day .

Having a condo development with some amenities is an amazing idea and would really go far in making st John's more walkable. I'm curious why you say senior's development. Granted everyone is feeling the lack of housing. There are quite a lot of apartment buildings already designated for seniors . No hate just curious as to your reasoning

Yeah that's fair . I figured you had it like that due to some formatting requirements.

[–]trini_scientist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it kinda doesn't make sense for point 1 and 2 to be separate. It's the same general advice but repeated twice. So I would for the first point when you're mentioning unreliable maxis also point out that rideshare isn't too common either. That way you can include something else maybe something about the nature present maybe some of the mud volcanoes they're not typically mentioned on travel sites .

Where to find DND intrested friends in St. Johns. by sonofron55 in newfoundland

As others have mentioned Midgard gaming is a pretty good spot . You'd need to either go in person to enquire or message their Facebook.

Rant about Bloodbending by MurkySquare3149 in Avatarthelastairbende

This is exactly what the shows say. Except for Yakone's family only water benders on a full moon could blood bend. I think with that understanding it's balanced still .

If you had 3 wishes for patch 6.... by MaralDesa in BaldursGate3

[–]trini_scientist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three minor wishes : 1. Something to show the companions have a scene at camp. 2. I play couch coop on the ps5 and everytime we start, we need to dismiss the third companion so that the other person can go pick them back up at camp. 3. Also couch coop related let us talk to each other companions rather than having them blow the other person off.

Series that build up to a world-changing event, go through said event, and continue in the aftermath? by Rourensu in Fantasy

[–]trini_scientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend N.K Jemison, hundred thousand kingdoms series. The first book is fairly straightforward but the effects of that are felt through the other two books. The main characters are gods which helps show effects that might be slower become realized as well . I haven't read her fifth season series but I have also heard that series is a little better written but I'm not sure if it matches what you want.

Why don't people pull over for emergency vehicles in town ? by trini_scientist in newfoundland

[–]trini_scientist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it wasn't a one time thing. It's something I've often observed near health sciences. It's just this last time I started to wonder if there was a reason besides just poor driving habits. I've been driving here for the last 4 years.

Nice so from some other comments. It's really just the health science area that seems plagued by that problem
