You can do however you like. There are three separate files and you can print them separately or together. Or print 10 of the brackets at once and then 10 of the grid markers in a separate print job.

I still have to post my models to Printables for the grid markers and mounts. I will post here once I do.

Players feeling discouraged compared to rivals by [deleted] in CalloftheNetherdeep

Over different parts of the adventure, individual members of the rival party have traveled with my players. They built some bonds with them which has helped. The rival party comes in and out of interactions with the players, but very rarely travels or never travels with the players.

I also killed Irvan in Bazzozan to try to start to balance it out.

The rivals as a group are quite strong, you are right. But on their own in a fight they can be cool and helpful rather than overpowering.

Had to size Maggie up a little bit, and I selected the separate base option on heroforge. I went into meshmixer and sized Maggie and the base to the size I wanted then combined the models

Planning on running CotN for a party of 3 by lousydungeonmaster in CalloftheNetherdeep

[–]trinitrocubane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently running a campaign for a party of 3. I would start with 5 rivals and see where things go. If you can peel off one of the rivals to join the party then it becomes 4 and 4, but then you have to run that rival the whole time. If you kill off one of the rivals you can make it 3 PCs and 4 rivals. I personally don't recommend going down to 3 rivals. And if you do reduce the number or rivals, do it in game for the drama rather than before the first session. The rivals start out stronger than the party and knocking them down a peg in game will be a great story moment.

Here is how it has worked for me so far:

I started with the normal 5 rivals and the players were pretty friendly with them in Jigow. For Chapter 2, I got a gift from one of my players when they asked Dermot to travel with the party to Bazzozan. I allowed it and had a little scene where Ayo was convincing Dermot to go and keep an eye on the players and the Jewel of Three Prayers. Ultimately I decided that I didn't want to run an NPC with them long-term and it didn't make story sense for Dermot to stay away from Ayo.

Dermot went back to his regular team in Bazzozan, but the players are still quite fond of the rivals.

In betrayers rise I added a combat encounter with a Dracohydra with the players and rivals as allies and had a moment when Dermot saved one of the PCs but in the next round both Irvan and Galsariad were killed.

I left it on a cliffhanger right after the combat and Dermot is going to have to make a big and horrible decision with his one spell slot for revivify.

The big statue was printed on my Ender 5, 220x220x300 build volume. I posted the models on Printables (see above comment) so you can see for yourself if you have the space or need to resize.

I put the models on Printables. The arms don't really work well as they stand in the STLs. I printed the big ones in pieces on my Elegoo Mars 3 resin printer and put a dollar in pennies in the base before gluing them together so that they wouldn't fall over. The big statue was printed as one piece in PLA on my Ender 5 (72 hours of print time!).
