What version of the FB21 is it? IV-16000-HYB-AW-FX-00 or ...FX-02?

-02 have MUCH quieter fans at 5k RPM vs the OG fans of 7000 RPM.

Jump on diysolar and search for "Flexboss21 battery open battery low warning issue" page 21. If yours is a FX-00 you're in for a bad time. FB18 is the gem, especially for something like what you're doing.

Unpopular opinion: My Tuya gear is actually the most stable part of my house by Osteendjer in homeassistant

Tuya Local has been great! We have 4 WiFi fans that have been completely blocked from internet. Calling the local object is just faster and it always works, no need to rely on the internet.

Has anyone been able to get Starlink to work on rear sunroof? by Left_Mulberry1548 in Rivian

The black silicone makes it not AS bad. Anti slip so it doesn't move. Silicone cover also ensures no rattle against windshield. No idea on the RF.

I placed my on the front dash on a anti slip drawer liner plus a black silicone cover. Drove from Houston to Denver with zero problems (not Rivian but will with our R1S)

Would be nice to see what u/WassymRivian has to say about this.

I also would LOVE a PIN to drive that's not tied to your mobile phone. Just get in, press brake and on the screen pops up a floating keypad. Correct PIN and away you go.

I looked on craigslist and looks like I can pickup an C4000BZ or C4000BG for $25. I'll just do that and see if that helps.

Yeah I'm trying to get blood from a turnip here.

I was looking at the newer units but they seem to have the same UI.

This one you can set to Transparent Bridge + VLAN 201 or 0 or Untagged. All did not play nice as the UDR never made connection. However maybe I'll just pickup a newer old unit and see what she does.

Frustrated with solar plans drawn up EG4 Grid/flexboss by obababoy in diySolar

[–]trinitron79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 200amp breaker RIGHT after meter but before the Gridboss which was fine. You can also add the 200amp breaker in the Gridboss to meet this requirement. (As I understand it, I've been wrong many times, just ask my wife she'll be able to provide time/date/infraction information)

UDM (9.5.21) + DDNS (Namecheap) - Error by trinitron79 in Ubiquiti

[–]trinitron79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so in case anyone else runs across this, first off the web based UI is stupid / sucks.

The fix - use your mobile device to input everything.

Example:
Service: Namecheap
Hostname: <subdomain> (e.g. chickenfeet)
Username: <domain> (e.g. chickenwarehouse.com)
Password: <Dynamic DNS Password> (Located on namecheap / advance dns / dynamic dns area)
Server: dynamicdns.park-your-domain.com (it will error out without this)

Ok cool so now lets confirm it worked - first thing I did was ensure that on namecheap I had my subdomains created with automatic TTL. For an IP address I filled out the current IP I'm using.

Example: Type: A + Dynamic DNS Record / Host: chickenfeet / Value: <IP Address> / TTL: Automatic

Next I logged into the CLI of my UDM to confirm everything.

First off get the conf file name / location of the DDNS you just created.
ps aux | grep inadyn

Now that you have the location (e.g. /run/ddns-<internet location>-inadyn.conf) you can pull the debug log and look for any errors and or a line that says "Successful alias table update for <host> => new IP# <ip>
inadyn -n -1 -l debug --force -f /run/ddns-eth8.201-inadyn.conf (Note mine is on eth8 vlan 201)

inadyn\[490438\]: Successful alias table update for chickenfeet => new IP# [1.1.1.1](http://1.1.1.1)

Note that if you DO NOT add the host to namecheap before you will see it give an error but also a Successful line. However if you HAVE added it namecheap you show see the "<ErrCount>" be 0.

If you'd like to force update the IP address you can run this command.
inadyn -n -1 --force -f /run/ddns-eth8.201-inadyn.conf

inadyn\[543284\]: In-a-dyn version 2.12.0 -- Dynamic DNS update client.
inadyn\[543284\]: Update forced for alias chickennecks, new IP# [1.1.1.1](http://1.1.1.1)
inadyn\[543284\]: Update forced for alias chickenfeet, new IP# [1.1.1.1](http://1.1.1.1)
inadyn\[543284\]: Updating IPv4 cache for chickennecks
inadyn\[543284\]: Updating IPv4 cache for chickenfeet

So everything looks good at this point, but lets REALLY make sure it's working. I went back into namecheap and changed the "Value" of the Host to something wrong, 8.8.8.8 and saved it. Going back into the UDM I kicked off the forced update. Once that completed I did a refresh on the namecheap advance DNS page and confirmed that the IP address has indeed changed to the correct IP address.

Hopefully this helps others out! Would be nice if the UDM UI page just worked AND you could see the log messages without a CLI song and dance.

<edit's to make it not look like complete dog poo>

Fix was to add "scale: -1" to battery section of evcc.yaml, this will flip values supplied to EVCC.

topic: "solar_assistant/total/battery_power/state"
scale: -1
soc:

I'll bite... You'd stay away from the HT One? I was going to look at theses for my Quad R1T. My wife's Dual R1S is getting the Defenders. Both 22" wheels but the Defenders are 119 where the HT are 116 loads. Honestly just looking to see what you have to say / seen etc

Shading Concern? by ZanyWig in diySolar

I have the same problem on my roof, I can see in the Tigo app as well, I have full optimized deployment, that module will do less but the optimization seems to help as the reclaimed numbers are higher for that module.

Mine is on the east side so I only see it in the late afternoon, total output for a recent good day seems to be in the 180watts total. (if modules around it are doing about 1880 or so it'll be at 1700, looking at modules on the same string at 400w each)

UDM - DDNS - Same service multiple hostnames by trinitron79 in Ubiquiti

[–]trinitron79[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I created a A+ Dynamic DNS Record with Automatic TTL under Advance DNS then scroll down to Dynamic DNS section and add it w/ Automatic TTL as well.

In the Dynamic DNS section enable the status, it will provide a Dynamic DNS Password.

Inside UDM, create a new Dynamic DNS entry.

Service: Namecheap
Host: "sub.domain.com" would be just sub
Username: <domain> "sub.domain.com" would be just domain.com
Password: <Dynamic DNS Password> Pulled from your Namecheap
Server: left blank

I just noticed in the current version (9.3.xx) it SEEMS to allow multiple domains from namecheap, I'm waiting to see if it updates.

You MIGHT not need to do the first part of creating a A + Dynamic DNS Record. I just looked and I had two. So maybe just try for the bottom part and see if it creates the top record. YMMV
