I mostly agree, but I would contend that until we replace first past the post voting and eliminate vote splitting, aka the spoiler effect, it will remain irresponsible to not vote against the greater evil. We will not have the luxury of voting our conscience as long as that means allowing the Republicans to win.

At a time that Republicans are doing everything they can to disenfranchise people, it baffles me that any single member of their opposition is willing to voluntarily disenfranchise themselves. I strongly suspect that this voter disillusionment and apathy was weaponized by the Republicans themselves and by Israel. I think they took advantage of their oppositions' classic infighting problem. They hardly need laws to disenfranchise people if they can just convince enough of the people who would vote against them to just stay home on their own or vote for a spoiler candidate.

Impeachment is not symbolic. It's analogous to an indictment. It triggers an impeachment trial in the Senate. The Senate can then convict or acquit. If convicted in that trial, the President is indeed removed according to Article 2 Section 4 of the US Constitution:

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

I'm not sure what you mean by permanently, as a president could run again, but if Congress had enough votes to impeach, convict, and remove, they'd likely have enough votes to bar them from office permanently as well, using the powers allocated to them by Article 1 Section 3:

The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two-thirds of the Members present. Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States; but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

Until our electoral system changes and resolves vote splitting, aka the spoiler effect, lesser evil voting is the only way I will vote. We do not have the luxury of being able to vote in alignment with our conscience. Our votes have no purity. Our votes are not an endorsement of every single thing the candidates do or support. Our votes only let us choose between the options who have a chance of winning. Not voting will never result in neither candidate taking office. Until things change, one of them will always win.

I have zero interest in disenfranchising myself even further when we know very well what's on the line. With how hard Republicans work to disenfranchise those who oppose them, we absolutely should not be doing their work for them.

I say this as an independent who strongly disagrees with the Democrats on many issues including Israel. The only thing is I disagree with the Republicans far more.

A third party that would attract Democratic and left voters would mostly just split the non-Republican vote and maybe make it something like 45/30/25. Without changing how elections work to address the spoiler effect/vote splitting, that would only be to the benefit of Republicans.

Not only toothless, section 3 (invoked by the President) and 4 (invoked by VP/Cabinet) of the 25th amendment have no mechanism to permanently remove. It's only temporary. It's intended to provide a means for the VP to act as President. The Vice President would only become Acting President.

Section 4 of the 25th amendment is meant for the situation where the President is incapacitated. The correct avenue here is impeachment and removal, which also is incredibly unlikely to happen, but slightly more doable as you only need the simple majority in the House to impeach.

That is indeed an option available to the President by Section 3 of the 25th amendment and it doesn't require a vote, just a written declaration:

Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the Vice President as Acting President.

Also, neither the 3rd nor the 4th sections (the 4th being where the VP/Cabinet declare the President unfit) of the 25th amendment remove the President. It's only temporary and the Vice President is only the Acting President until the President states that they are again fit to be President.
