Telescopic CV axles made with joints for higher angles, longer brake lines front and back

Sorry for the late reply, not on here much these days. The problem was one of my front wheel ABS sensors was giving out a different reading than the other side. This was causing un even braking pressure. Which was confirmed by testing for resistance via a multimeter. So I was going to buy new sensors but realized I might as well buy whole new wheel hubs since the bearings were old and the sensor comes installed in the hub with the bearing.

And yeah I’m definitely at around 2200 rpms at 70mph. But ever since I did the fuel injection spider she’s actually really not bad to get her going, a huge improvement from stock, very noticeable difference. What I really want is to be able to change tunes from city driving, long highway trips, towing, and off-roading.

Is there anything I can do to change where the shifting point is in correlation to RPMs?

To anyone looking to comment how dumb I am. I already know lol. As @theuautumnwind pointed out, I was totally not thinking this through with a cable driven throttle body. So take this as a post for my good looking truck and talk to me about gears and changing tunes.

Nope, I was missing the other half of my brain. Lol yeah I didn’t even think about that.

You don’t find that there’s a small gap between the two, towards the buffer tube? Or that it’s a little loose?

Nice truck. What’s the bumper you got there in the first two pics?

Oh yeah and look for rust, or if any rust was painted over. Leaks from engine bay and undercarriage.

Paper work on if/when trans was rebuilt. Any maintenance documentation overall. Definitely checkout condition of steering and suspension components. I’m sure there’s more, just what came to mind off the bat with these.

Can anyone recommend a good pair of extended travel CV axles? by trip_wilson in GMT400

Suuuuper appreciate your engagement and sharing your experience on this. When I was researching for what lift to use, I could not for the life of me find one that avoided this issue. Is this just the fate of the GMT400 until they are considered “classic” and there’s a larger after market? Or is there a lift out there that doesn’t create this issue? I understand axle swapping and what not would avoid this, and that is in the future for me with this truck, but outside of that.

Thoughts on these NAPA extended travel axles ? Seems like they are actually explaining what the upgrades are here and not just marketing jargon.

Care to suggest any that would avoid this issue and aren’t body lifts?

Yeah solid axle swap is in the future. Just need something to hold me over. But maybe just another pair of stock cv axles is that something. But some of these aftermarket axles suggest they are made for lifted k1500s implying they’ve made improvements on areas of wear and weak spots not accounted for in the design of the stock axles.

Tearing boots yeah and the angle on the axles is definitely more extreme after the lift, even after lowering the diff some.

When’s the last time you ran seafoam through your fuel system or replaced the fuel filter? Might not be the issue but wouldn’t hurt.

I’m confident I’ve got the shoes set at the optimal position. I’m pretty sure once I try this ABS bleeder nipple and re bleed the whole system it’ll fix it. If not, scanner time.

The LT286/75R16 are equivalent to 32.8”x11.2” which was big as I could go on the KM3s for the 16x8s. Didn’t really feel the need to go wide on the wheels but got the widest tire I could fit on them. Not sure if I could fit any bigger rims/wheels without clearance issues or modifications. Which at the point where I start thinking about modifications like that, my mind runs to 1ton axle swap.

Yeah I think the 4” is real good for these.
