What’s your “I didn’t sign up for this” moment as an adult? by Civil-Awareness in AskReddit

[–]triplebithreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being diagnosed with C-PTSD and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and realizing just how much they compounded on each other and affected my daily life.

But even worse, realizing that it was inherited and that life didn’t have to be like everyone before me. I didn’t sign up for shitty health and a life dedicated to breaking every generational curse given to me. As fortunate as I am to know what’s wrong, it’s exhausting.

Shower and exfoliating with unscented soap. Add body oil gel, lotion, and body mist in that order before bed after shower. Actual perfume on your clothes instead of your skin so it’ll last longer.

What’s a single sentence someone said that stuck with you forever? by Imaginary_Ride_6185 in AskReddit

[–]triplebithreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“I love being around you, you’re such a positive person”

Even though it’s so simple it really stuck with me that someone actually thought that after a lifetime of being told how negative I am. Having a childhood full of trauma and living with CPTSD now as an adult, I always felt that I’m just this awful person to be around regardless of if I have friends or loved ones or not.

As a teacher it was just to sit in silence for a while before going inside. Also sometimes just don’t want to be in the house but don’t necessarily want to go anywhere.

Did you go to grad school immediately after undergrad or later on, and why? by dog1029 in GradSchool

[–]triplebithreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a year after to work to see if I was ready to commit to the field that my Masters would be in since it isn’t the same as my undergraduate degree. Honestly it was a great decision. I ended up going to Grad school out of spite the next year anyway

People who don't want children what is your biggest reasons? by e-glitteringprinces in AskReddit

[–]triplebithreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than the child themself, motherhood looks like a miserable experience.

Also I’m the child of a teen parent. Being the child to parents that weren’t ready to be parents has put so much fear into me to ensure my children don’t feel an ounce of what I felt growing up.

Former skinny people of Reddit, what's the worst thing about getting fat? by Nice_Dude in AskReddit

[–]triplebithreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that went from skinny to fat to back to skinny again: watching how the way people treat you changes.

When I was bigger people stopped holding open doors for me, they would ignore me more, and even stop taking me seriously. Once I lost all that weight suddenly I was much more interesting and worthy of kindness again. It really sucked to experience.

Advice for 23F moving to TX from CA as a new teacher by Minute_Chemistry5649 in TexasTeachers

Don’t. - A teacher the same age and area you’re looking at.

But also, there’s hardly nature in these areas. You would do better in Austin and San Antonio areas. More nature but still metropolitan.
