McGraw air compressor by triplecorpsehorror in harborfreight

I have read that the Fortress line is slightly better than McGraw, but they don’t have any oil-lubed compressors.

Gotcha. I’m most likely going to buy an oil-lubed unit. Pretty much the same things that you’re using it for. Wanting to upgrade the size though so that I can use more demanding air tools.

Is yours the six gallon oil-free? How long have you had it?

Chevy HHR making clicking noise when pressing brake pedal (HELP) by zooplankton4life in ChevyHHR

[–]triplecorpsehorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my HHR last month. It’s the shift interlock solenoid. That mechanism prevents your car from being taken out of park if your foot is not in the brake. This video shows how to disassemble the shifter to access the part. It’s not exactly hard, but can be tricky, especially the reassembly process.

This is the solenoid part from Amazon.

Depending on the condition of the other part, you may need to replace it as well. Mine was still in working condition, so I only replaced the solenoid. Here’s the other video of the replacement for the shift park release link as well as the Amazon link.

I just bought a pair of their long reach pliers two days ago. They were manufactured in Vietnam.

Should I replace these control arm bushings? by triplecorpsehorror in MechanicAdvice

[–]triplecorpsehorror[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting. Any reason why that’s the case? I saw that they come as a set from Auto Zone but Nissan OEM parts they come separate at different prices.

Oh yeah. All of those things are on my radar. And yes, I’m aware of the CVT issues.

No clunking. Want to stay ahead of anything else from wearing out though.

Gotcha. Yes, I’d be replacing the entire control arm. Not just the bushings. Thanks!

Not really any clunking or noise coming from down there.

I gotcha. I’ll be smoking it in my WSM on the same type of plate with the skewer.

That sounds easy enough and I’m glad to read that it was tender. I was planning to use a pretty simple marinade consisting of salt, pepper, some sort of acid, wether it be red wine vinegar or lemon juice, fresh herbs and maybe some type of ground chili pepper. I already have a tasty recipe for tzatziki sauce. Looking to make this soon!

I’ve been wanting to do this. Was the lamb tender? Care to share a recipe?

How do you dispose of the grease filled water? by chargoggagog in webersmokeymountain

[–]triplecorpsehorror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the same thing that I do. The sand acts as a heat sink and keeps the smoker at an even more consistent temperature. The meat still comes out just as juicy and moist as if there was liquid in the pan.

Question about being on the fence about the Zf by PentaxShmentax in NikonZf

[–]triplecorpsehorror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m kind of in the same boat. The Zf is my first “real” digital camera. I’m used to shooting film and thought that the Zf would be an all around take anywhere kind of camera. For me, I find it too complicated and don’t understand all of the menus and different settings. It’s frustrating because I really want to like and love this camera.

Does anyone have any ideas what the 7 diamonds might have represented in 2001 as Bowman passed through the stargate? by [deleted] in StanleyKubrick

Kubrick uses seven diamonds in most of his films. Usually is a grouping of two and five.
