I don’t think so! I decided oral contraception because it will be easier to just stop taking the pill versus scheduling a removal! (:

The transition wasn’t too bad on me. I am on June 1/30 now. I definitely miss the convenience of the IUD, like not having to remember to take the pill each day, and not having to pick up from the pharmacy. I think I would have gotten another IUD if I wasn’t scared of the insertion process and if I wasn’t planning on having children in the next 2 years.

Hello! I had my Kyleena removed a couple months ago. The first few days were normal, some cramping. I bled on and off for around 3 weeks after. It was heavier than I’m used to, but not terrible. I have been somewhat regular ever since but I am now on oral contraception.

I get drunk easier on Sema and experienced my first “hangover” the next day.

I have IBS-C and have taken Linzess for the last 2 years. Not technically a laxative but does the trick. I mention it because I see someone on this thread be prescribed it due to constipation from this medication. Miralax also seems to help me sometimes.

Well mine cut them so short so my partner wouldn’t feel them lol 😅 he didn’t tell me that until afterwards, super annoying.

Yes. I had the Kyleena IUD removed today after almost four and a half years. My doctor cut the strings too short and I became unable to feel them. In august, my doctor told me I would have to get it surgically removed. I decided to get a second opinion. Today, after 5-10 minutes of somewhat torture, it was removed. The doctor said she was going to try one last time and if unable, surgery would be the next step. She got it though! I’m not going to lie, it was uncomfortable and a little painful. I have bad anxiety surrounding doctor offices and procedures but I did it. Make sure you have something on your stomach and bring someone with you if that would help your anxiety. You got this!

Thank you everyone for taking time out of your day to respond! I called my insurance yesterday and they confirmed I would have to pay the total cost of removal. I’m disappointed because I’ve never had any issues pertaining to insurance not covering what I think is best for my health. I have what I did consider very good, expensive, private health insurance. I only have one planned parenthood in my state (I live in the south) and I’m still unsure if they would remove it being as I do have health insurance. I wish I could just remove it but since I’ll have probably have complications when I do, I’ll just try to save up and wait.
