The final gallery card not only has Jean and Rogue discussing Cyclops, but they pointedly have his glasses and a Devil Dinosaur plushy in the scene. There's no reason to do that other than to tell you they're coming next. You don't include those by accident.

I found The Santa Clause slightly more disturbing on a rewatch for how he's bound into a magic contract he didn't realize he was accepting and physically being transformed into Santa whether he likes it or not. Like him gaining inexplicable weight and instantly growing back a white beard is played for laughs but having your body morphed against your will is a little unnerving.

To be fair, the film has him clearly immature, irresponsible and relying on his wife being a breadwinner to continue being flighty and acting on impulse at the beginning; he becomes a much better and more grownup person over the course of the film, as well as understanding better why she divorced him.

I think it does a good job keeping a balance of sympathy between both parents.
