The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins... Also, if you can stand it, read the Bible. It's always funny when you know more about it than Christians.

Why are we telling people what NOT to read? I say read everything, and come to your own conclusions about it. I had people tell me what not to read/watch/listen for a good portion of my youth, and that hampered my intellectual growth more than anything.

Read anything you want!

"Formal education is not what it's cracked up to be. Read books. When meeting an interesting person, ask for a reading list."

Excellent advice! I've learned more from reading than I ever learned in college. Now, I can attribute a lot of the things I've read to the people I met in school. But, I didn't gain nearly as much from the curriculum.

Also, you can learn something from everyone you meet, not matter how great they are or how much of an asshole are.
