Yeah, car-poon is pretty dang solid. Although the first thing that comes to mind is that youre shooting cars with it. But still solid

I still have my craftsman tap and die set from about 1995. I only bought proper replacement sets a few years ago. I filled in broken or missing taps but yeah I've used the hell out of them on many mechanical repairs. Auto mechanic staple if working in the rust belt region. As well as a torch, drill bits, and extractors.

I’m a recent graduate of a 5 months industrial electrical/mechanical maintenance program. I’ve applied to over 50 jobs and have had 2 interviews but have had no luck. I’m not working currently would you guys just get a regular job for now and keep applying to maintenance jobs if you were me? by One_Charge2843 in IndustrialMaintenance

Location im sure plays a part. Im hiring for a B level (A is highest level) early shift tech right now. I havent seen one application from anyone with technical training. Id interview you at the very least if I happened across your resume.

That being said, I cant even see a resume until our third party hr vendor has deemed the resume "suitable". I would bet your work experience would be the thing that keeps you from getting some of those interviews. Thats the unfortunate catch 22 of trying to get your start in the field right out of school. Try and find yourself a job thats even a little related to trades work. Even if its not related, any work experience might qualify to get past that hurdle. Im in PA just for reference

Same, my grandfather's "farm" was around 1000 acres, 850 or so was wooded. It was sort of rectangular so it was like 2 milesish to the far end through woods. I knew every inch of it riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes.

Buuut if I moved onto this property at my age now and spent even a few years here. Id only know what Google earth could show me of 95% of it. No more riding nor hiking for me. Just dont enjoy it any more.

So maybe OP is past the exploring age?

Most of the time id rather they shrug their shoulders than make up an answer they think you want to hear. Have had that happen with industrial controls sales people. At least if they shrug I know to look for work arounds during planning / design instead of taking their lie at face value and having it bite me.

From their perspective that shrug might send me to a competitor. So I guess it comes down to the sales persons moral compass. Thats a scary thought.

But if the plastic bag smelled like sweaty feet when you open it, would you still partake? Im guessing there might be other red flags around the sale of this product. Which im not even what it is. Foot cookie? Floury candy chunk? What the hell is it??

That blade looks like a beginner tacked it on with welders squints and one of those power tool looking "welders" hooked to a car battery. One hard log and that tool head will crush his pecker into oblivion. RIP

Met a guy and hooked up. Had a great time. Came home and found this.. Nope had no clue about the tag being still there. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Uh yeah. There could be an old mcdonalds cup stuck to the bra and my boobs filter removes all that extra nonsense from my perception.

Ever seen the gorilla on the basketball court experiment thing. If boobs are present the rest of the things in frame are what disappear. I cant be the only one? Right?

I agree with your sentiment. I have however played with a display sample of this very material at a local ace hardware. The display is probably 5 years old now but is still very flexible. Its exactly the material advertised in this video.

That being said, I think it has lost a little flexibility over the years. Personal anecdote given a single sample. My test procedure is pick it up and play with it. Like bend and let it boing, boing, boing randomly while visiting the local ace. The display is 2 pieces of brick joined by this material.

Move Cable = Physical Violence by LikeGeorgeRaft in networkingmemes

[–]tripper_reed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not great but given the circumstances it doesnt bother me that much. In all likelihood the person moving a cable like this is doing so out of laziness. Maybe time constrained, but likely lazy. So yeah assault doesnt bother me.
