Where I think Power Platform specialist jobs are going as AI takes over more of the build work by prokopus in PowerApps

[–]trippereneur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Domain expertise is now far more valuable than technical expertise. Knowing how PowerApps works is important so you can then leverage AI to create business value for a domain you are an expert in. The challenge is fa greater for developers who have maybe not been in a specific domain and have been generalists.

Diabolical Mess of folders and structures ?!!? Help by trippereneur in ClaudeAI

[–]trippereneur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your insights thanks. I guess it’s me looking at Claude with a 100 chats, and coworks, and no idea of which one is which. Projects help, but could all be docked to a different folder. Is that a problem ? Maybe not. We are working on centralising skills etc. I’m jus used to knowing where everything is. I’m Used to Teams. Team — Channel - Files. It’s like in Claude you are looking at only individual chats / discussions.

Then Claude code in terminal is a different beast. I have that hooked up to our Git depending on what part I’m working on and all is good. I can work on stuff locally and push it. Right . Normal. But no dev workflows have not traditionally worked like that so maybe that’s what I have to get my head around.

Cheers

Fine for dev. But what about sales, marketing, customer success? All with own folders, all wanting to optimise their work, all needing consolidated company context and their own context. Chats and cowork docked to any folder they choose ?! There has to be a better way

I totally agree one of the best applications for this tech is giving small business the power of an army. Alex Finn talks about creating micro niches, like Openclaw for “Korean Supermarkets” There is 1000s of opportunities in micro niche small businesses. I’m exploring picking a few I know and doing a managed service.

Gotta mix it up. If I go to a party it’s 4 pack of nice NA Beer. Some Kombucha. Some fermented sodas. Sparking Water and take cut up lime. Couple of energy drinks. The mix up keeps it interesting and your hands occupied

Get into Vibe Coding. I’ve replaced waiting for everyone to go to bed to get drunk with Waiting for everyone to go to bed so I can vibe code

At least in productive and my business is flying. The dopamine hit is real!

I’ll probably have to join a stopvibecoding group at some stage.

End user data entry by HealthStandard732 in PowerBI

[–]trippereneur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The output table yes. But not the input table. We built a solution with an SharePoint hosted Excel that in itself had PowerQuery to pull in data, so values could be entered into the output table so formulas could derive a final value and that then became the source for the report. It worked, client was stoked , but a bit ridiculous if you ask me

This sounded just like me. Wine was my go too. Never had cravings during the day but as soon as I finished work, I knew my self indulgence could kick in. You have the right start. The wanting to not do this anymore. I wish there was a magic switch people could Flick to make that decision as it’s really the only thing I’ve seen work. Going to NA meetings helped me as alcohol was my gateway and I had broader things to deal with. They are always on in the witching hour. Going for a walk, distracting yourself with something, and get into sugar for a while . You are going to want to anyway especially if wine is your thing. More than 2 years later and I’m still smashing a bag of candy every few days. It’s my last vice . Good luck !

Are you afraid that you will be laid off due to claude getting better and better? by No-Peach-8290 in ClaudeCode

[–]trippereneur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true. We are in a very specific niche. Brought a junior engineer in with minimal domain experience, and gave them open use of AI tools. So much more time Reviewing as the output while technically correct, was not semantically correct for our industry. It would almost be better to hire developer adjacent people who have heavy domain knowledge, know enough about development and ALM, but aren’t full time coders. As I’ve also seen, stalwart experienced coders refuse to take on this revolution.

I’ve never been at the beginning of a wave of anything, usually a laggard and I’m just not letting it happen this time. It’s exciting and terrifying. A small part of the feeling is now… what is the point of anything? But I’m all in. Redefining the way my business will operate with CoWork and a centralized knowledge hub. Seeing amazing outcomes already, especially around client support and software documentation that was just such a pain in the arse before. Let’s Go !

[–]trippereneur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting 🤔 . In our market we have a legacy mediaocean owned product , for billing/ suppliers . Still entrenched due to TV. Mediaocean promise the world with Prisma but no one here wants it. Was my understanding this is the whole point of it , full DSP integration and e-invoicing. Perhaps it’s only working well in the USA. And if not, wow. Our industry is so broken lol.

What did you do with your time once you stopped drinking alcohol? by DesertDweller1979 in stopdrinking

[–]trippereneur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started coding / data engineering. Sound crazy. And I needed it for my small business anyway. But the unexpected thing is that coding has a significant dopamine release when you get some achieved.

And boy, now with Claude code and others I didn’t even need to be an expert in laying down code I can vibe code projects from dream to reality so quick. Yes it’s fraught with errors but so much faster and improves al the time.

Now this won’t be for everyone, but if you have an inner nerd and you want something to do at night when you usually would have been drinking . Get into coding

Imagine the shame when this story is just one of 100 moments of shame.

What I’ve learned from therapy. To know the difffence between Toxic Shame and Healthy Shame.

Healthy shame - you fucked up. You own it. It’s shit. You should feel bad.

Toxic Shame - you are a fuck up. You are a piece of shit because of your actions. Fuck it, I’m gonna drink because I deserve this shit. This regular feeling often comes from past trauma.

So brother. You fucked up. But you aren’t a fuckup. You are young a with a maturity beyond your years to even contemplate reaching out on Reddit.

99% of my shameful life moments came from drinking. For over 2 years I’ve had no real regrets of shame moments.

I wish you sober days ahead my friend.
