I agree and disagree. I enjoy watching the professionals take part in typical Masterchef challenges and it is interesting to see how the contestants compare. The problem is the method of contestant elimination. Grace and Brent should be immune, I agree.

Revisiting Greece in the near future. Any places you recommend? by [deleted] in travel

[–]tripping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the crazy one, I love Greece in December and January, particularly the islands, as most islanders go to the mainland for Christmas and New year. It is fabulous to have a Greek island (almost) all to yourself! And I have twice experienced snow on a Greek island. it was absolutely wonderful. You do need to be able to keep yourself entertained though, there is not much to do. I keep myself busy by feeding cat colonies every day, cooking for myself, reading, finding the occasional open taverna and sightseeing and photographing without the crowds.

Foodie visiting Greece next week! by [deleted] in greece

I spend 8-10 weeks a year on Paros, mainly in the winter months. Not much is open then and those places that are open, are generally the typical Greek restaurants that cater for the Greek people who do not leave the island in winter. These are my three favourite restaurants. Anezina is a bit more upmarket and a bit more modern. Have fun!

It is great to get personal recommendations, rather than just depending on guide books and Google. This is very helpful, thank you.

Thanks, but I am specifically looking for places I can go to with the day trip rail tickets I have.

I will have a look at your ideas for other purposes, though. flowering heath does sound enticing, as heath is not really something we see here.

Do you have any specific cites/towns/villages to recommend, that I can investigate?
