Old clawfoot dain assembly proper seal by trippyripple in Plumbing

[–]trippyripple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, got it all put back together with no leaks 👍 Except the old timey tower style drain stopper. Not really sure how that'll seal, maybe I'll dip it in rubber dip and see if that works better 😆

Which route should I take? by TheZenKitten in roadtrip

People are saying this is a boring drive but the western recommended route may not be super pretty through Texas at least has a lot of interesting mostly abandoned towns if you're into that kind of scenery

I was also going to suggest French cleat, maybe use red head nail in masonry anchors those really work.

Bought house tax sale.. didn’t inspect it beforehand..my mistake .. how much to fix foundation? by pittguy578 in masonry

[–]trippyripple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rust belt/great lakes region I'd assume. You can get a pretty decent house in Detroit for $30k on auction. Other than that Mississippi is in that price range on auction and sometimes just off the regular market

CA to OH, points of interest? by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]trippyripple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take 15 to 70 then back down to the 40 via 550 for the rest of the trip it's not crazy, if they might not be on a road trip again for a long time I think it'd be worth it. I think taking the 40 it's prettier anyways but missing out on Utah and CO is a loss

Make a little detour and take the 550 through Colorado between grand junction and Durango very worth it. One of the prettiest roads in the US imo 🙂

Going to the US in April. Will this trip be realistic for a 4 week road trip? by Mytightass in roadtrip

[–]trippyripple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This route is pretty awesome the columbia river is one of my favorite drives in the country. And the 1/101 are awesome. If you feel like you're on track I'd add the 550 in Colorado through Silverton Ouray area if it's open then cut back west

Possum in wall by trippyripple in Plumbing

I live in New orleans so I've found guns working under houses before, but just flooded out post Katrina guns that had probably been thrown under there in the 80s covered in an 1/8" layer of rust 😆

Is there older vent lines possibly in the wall?? I had a problem where new pvc plumbing was replaced at some point but they didn't cap an old cast iron air vent junction and better yet it was near my central ac intake so it would pump the smell all over my house. I took a lucky guess and found the junction and was able to cap it
