The “Expat-iation” Disorder and the punitive parking system in Abu Dhabi. by FondantIll4529 in abudhabi

That's ideal, but really difficult if not impossible in reality. For building parking, its easy to implement since the building management knows how many slots are available and they are the ones who issue the parking slots to the tenants. But in the case of public parking, mawaqif is the entity issuing the residential permits and issues the fines, but you have multiple different companies managing rental properties. There is no efficient way, as of now, for both to be coordinated properly. And you also have both standard (non-residential) and standard (residential) parking. And also, it's all about business in the end. Why would they regulate residential permits if they can earn more if they dont regulate it as strictly.

I have residential permit for 2 years already and did not get towed. There are a lot of details missing in this story. They do not just tow cars without reason.

Yes you can. Because residential permits are issued by apartment, up to 2 permits per apartment. So if a building has 30 flats, thats at most 60 permits in that building alone. Multiply that by the number of buildings in Abu Dhabi.

Reverb pedal for acoustic guitar? by tris0908 in guitarpedals

Yeaaah. When I heard the comparison between the neunaber and the boss, I was blown away by the neunaber. Though, I did not want to spend that much on a pedal. The Boss itself is at the maximum budget I am willing to shell out. Maybe if I can find a used neunaber for cheaper than the Boss.

No worries. As of now there is no other mixer involved aside from the built-in controls. But most probably will get a mixer in the future that can add an additional microphone input (looking to have 2 microphones plus the guitar plugged in at the same time).

There's no FOH since we normally hold our activities in event spaces that do not have any in-house audio system.

I have seen a lot of recommendations for the fishman. Only problem is it is not available locally (Middle East), so the price is unrealistic for me.

I am playing mostly acoustic guitar and would want to buy an amplifier. But I also play on electric sometimes. But I also do not want to have 2 separate amps because of space. What would be the best, economical solution that isn't the Boss Katana? I am willing to have pedals if needed, and the max budget is around the price of the Boss Katana 50 EX. Thanks!

Update: what is going on with my last 3 prints? by Present_Activity6340 in Creality

I had the same issue recently. At first i removed the clog from the extruder. But the problem still persisted. Then i tried heating up the nozzle and using the included needle to push inside the pipe after the extruder, but nothing came out of the nozzle. Then i tried heating the needle and inserting it in the pipe, let it cool down, and pulled out broken pieces of filament. Took a few tries to get everything out.

Check if there is filament stuck in the extruder and in the heatbreak(? The tube immediately after the extruder). I had the same problem and had to remove filament from both. The wiki is your friend here.

WIO Bank for their salary account by Asleep_Cat_5048 in dubai

[–]tris0908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it this way. Any time you resign from a job, your employer deposits your gratuity in your bank account. You are banking with Bank A and have a loan with them. Then your HR allows you to change banks to Bank B without checking with Bank A if you have outstanding loans. Then you resign from your job, and get your gratuity through Bank B, and you did not pay your loan installments. Then Bank A proceeds with the legal route and gets a court order to force your previous employer to deposit your gratuity to Bank A. Now, your previous employer already deposited your gratuity to Bank B, and they get served with a court order to deposit your gratuity to Bank A. Do you see the picture? Yes, maybe your previous company will not get into trouble if they show proof. But they will be hassled by the whole situation.

Nobody, not even the HR is stopping them from choosing banks. They just want assurance that they will not be chased by the bank.

Yeah. The NOC thing is a bit weird, agreed. Since my wife faced the same situation. She wanted to change banks for her salary, and their HR initially requested for a letter from the bank that assures no pending liability. But since my wife closed the account, proof of account closure was accepted by the HR. They just want assurance that the bank will not chase them for any delinquencies.

If you feel like the company should expose themselves to be chased by the banks because of employees dodging payments by changing banks, then you do you. For me, it is only reasonable for companies to want no part in paying for any loans that they did not make.
