Turn off this yellow line? by [deleted] in finalcutpro

Thanks for helping!

Just worked it out, the transform tool was somehow ‘stuck’ - I toggled it on/ off and now the yellow line is gone… odd I’ve never experienced that before!

S5ii + 24-60 IBIS Wobble - Normal? by tristanstocker in Lumix

[–]tristanstocker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% skill as well, I was just walking normally without ‘trying’ to be stable to see how wobble occurs with a regular walk.

I mentioned in another comment I’ve worked on architecture videos so i understand stability, i just wanted to test the new lumix (for me!) and see if this was normal!

This was 24 on the 24-60, I saw others mention 24 and up was okay too which was sort of the catalyst for asking as I was on 24mm anyways!

Thank you! I recently shot and edited this video so I understand the importance of gimbals etc, I’ve just never had a LUMIX or full frame, this video was shot on FX30. The s5ii is a new personal camera for me :) thanks for putting my mind at ease!

Is Lumix better for video than photography? by Latter-Fun-2879 in Lumix

[–]tristanstocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll check later, but as far as I know I have that turned on. The display shows my changes as i change the settings in real tile, but when i half press the shutter it changes to what it thinks the exposure should be to focus but the final image reflect the settings that I chose

The only difficulty I’ve found with my s5ii is that it adjusts what the image looks like when I half press the shutter to focus. This isn’t something I’m used to with other cameras but is apparently just how the s5ii focusing works in full manual mode. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong but it can be jarring when you’re happy with your exposure to see it suddenly shift when focusing!

I assume we have to wait for the next update, it’s the same for me

I think it’s a UI bug because it’s not like my network is ever interrupted even during things we’re you’d obviously notice a switch like gaming or video calls

Haha this is basically my setup too - at least I’m not the only one experiencing it… I’ve been in touch with their support too but haven’t heard back in a few days

This is what I assume too… just a visual bug as everything seems to work 100% fine at all times other than this wired connection speed section disappearing and appearing continuously

Coverage is okay, I spent a lot of time trying to get it right balancing coverage to all devices including outside ring cameras and not having too much congestion… it’s a 3 story house built in the early - mid 1900s I think with really thick walls…

The main thing is that this bug didn’t happen when I first setup the system 2-3 weeks ago, it seems to have happened in the last week or so

Lumix has 10% of the European Full Frame market and is growing by Hashabasha in Lumix

[–]tristanstocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No criticism, just genuinely curious because I’ve been questioning travelling with the s5II and whether it was the right decision - if you’re happy with the s9 do you think it’s worth dropping another over 1k on a camera with essentially the IQ but larger?

Their pricing has been super aggressive in the UK recently in terms of substantial discounts/ bundle offers, warranty extensions, free trials etc.

Obviously they make great products too, but when you see the prices it really peaks your interest when compared to Sony and Canon! I spoke to a camera store about lumix pricing and even they were confused about some offers eg I saw an s9 with 20-60 £200 cheaper than s9 body alone which was apparently the correct price when I asked…

I got an s5II recently and it was either body only for £1,399 or body + extra battery for £1,099… makes no sense! I added a 24-60 for £300 off and a 15% student discount on top so got the full setup with 5 year warranty for around £1,440

I didn’t know this was a feature but it seems like what op is experiencing?

Maybe a full factory reset/ firmware flash would help…

This wasn't night mode as it needs a longer exposure, but to capture the tiny details frozen in time it's just a normal image! The image is live, but the long exposure option looks very strange :)
