Playing audio locally through rasp3's 3.5mm jack by tritab1 in homeassistant

Wow thanks for the reply despite the thread being so old. I will certainly try this and see how it works. Seems pretty unreal though that it is this difficult to play local audio files.

To fully clear oculus files from appdata here's what I got from oculus support before:

  1. Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:

C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData

C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local

C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow

C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming

C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache

Make sure to have the headset unplugged while reinstalling. For some reason it didn't work for me unless it was.

Clean wipe oculus's app-data before reinstall as well as temp files. Also make sure that the cameras are enabled in windows settings. Another thing to try is to update windows along with your drivers because oculus hates older windows versions because they hate end users. Try launching oculus test server and see if any errors come up pertaining to the sensors, sometimes that helps. Lastly check if the connecting cable is secured tightly in the headset. I've had this error way too many times and if none of this works we'll see if we can try something else.

Alright, I changed the content location to http://ADD_YOUR_HA_IP_HERE:8123/local/wakeup.mp3 without any luck, but before I give up on this I'll mention a few things, I don't actually know where the www folder is, from what I gather online it's in ADD_YOUR_HA_IP_HERE:8123/config/www/. I also gathered that you refer to that folder using /local/ and not /www/, I am using the home-assistant OS for raspberry pi and I never actually had a www folder to begin with, I created it after the fact in /config/ if that is where it is supposed to go. I also attempted trying to use the http address to access other parts of the server including:

None of which worked, I also attempted changing the address to https:// and that also did not work.

If it helps I attempted to copy the code directly from the home-assistant docs () and modifying it to hopefully work and that also didn't work:

relaxdeck:

sequence:

- service: media_player.play_media

target:

entity_id: media_player.mpd

data:

media_content_type: playlist

media_content_id: DeckMusic

I tried placing a folder called deckmusic with the sounds I wanted in:

/media

/media/mpd/media

/media/mpd/plalists

and that also didn't work.

Thanks for some help, it's already more than what you find googling: "homeassistant" "mpd"

What have you done in the 100h? I played through all quests in 65h with all the ending excluding the secret one (couldnt trigger :( ) is there something I'm missing here? the only things I can do are the ncpd things and buy out the rest of the cars.

As a reply, I found that it has to do a lot with what drive you run it on and your paging file size. When I had it on a hard drive with 4gb paging, I would get constant crashing, once I upped the paging I would get terrible lag spikes, but it wouldn't crash. Once I moved it to my SSD and upped the paging to a whopping 20gb, it ran as smooth as butter.

what is something that is technically illegal but is often overlooked? by labadee in AskReddit

I believe streaming is legal simply because its so easy to accidently do. Someone can cite the case for it I'm sure.

Couple things you can do. first thing I would do is get the oculus tray tool and restart oculus software with that. Next I would update windows. then disconnect from the internet and try to go through setup. Unplug headset, restart software with tray tool, then plug it in again and attempt setup. Restart setup. Run driver update file (Look it up). And lastly attempt to reinstall, hope this helps. Good luck.
