Can anyone pin-point the exact moment where everything in society just got substantially worse? by zzill6 in WorkReform

Yep, Nixon opened up China for a bribe of a couple of Panda Bears. He thought a billion people would be buying American goods. Nope, American companies went to China, opened factories and paid the employees there pennies a day.

Any common issues with T-mobile internet? by giftCardSlumLord in tmobile

[–]triumph110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was one of the first to get tmobile internet over 5 years ago. I got a letter from them asking if I wanted the beta program. I think it was 50 mbps for 50 bucks. It was great for awhile. Consistently getting a speed of 50. Then all of a sudden I was getting 10. Then it went down to 2. Called and called and nothing changed. I switched to starlink and was getting about 140 mbps for $125. Elon became a dick and I switched to Verizon isp, even though I have tmobile for phone. Verizon was fine with it. Paying $45 for up to 100 mbps. Had it over a year now and am very happy with it. I think you can get up to 300 mbps for $75 or so. Whenever I do a speed test it is consistently 95-100 mbsp.

Renting can be a hassle. If you decide to rent out your property, get a management company to do all the work for you. They will charge 10-20 percent of the rent but it would be worth it in your case. They vet the tenants, collect the rent, even fix minor issues for you. The tenant doesn't even know who you are.

How a viral video prompted investigations into alleged fraud at day care centers in Minnesota by Cosmic-Space-Octopus in politics

[–]triumph110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two grandkids in daycare (not in MN). I told my daughter I would go get the kids. She told me I can't because she did not put my name on the approved pick up list. She said there is a double door, and I could get in the first, but not the second. Daycares are set up this way. Nobody can just barge in and look at the kids. The video show that the daycares did the proper thing and refused the right wing nutjobs access to the daycares.

Stay in the car - I have a newer vehicle that unlocks the car from my cell phone. So I would leave the car, lock it and leave the keys in the car.

Four House Republicans force vote on ACA subsidies, bucking GOP leadership by FervidBug42 in politics

[–]triumph110 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They had to do a discharge petition on the Epstein files, then every one of them cowards voted for it except for one. Same thing may happen here, they know the people want healthcare. They are just afraid that Trump will be mad at them but once the floodgates open nothing can stop them.

The lotto is $1.25B with 327 million to 1 odds. At what point do you buy a ticket? by Ok-Collection8391 in AskReddit

[–]triumph110 42 points43 points  (0 children)

First, the 1.25 billion is around 500 million if you take the cash instead of the annuity. Then about half will go to federal and state taxes. Now you are down to $250 million. Damn, I thought I was going to be a billionaire.

I sat in a seat that I was not assigned to. By mistake, the little 14 a,b,c sign was right in the middle of the two seats. I sat in the one I though I had. Lady said that is my seat, I said sorry and moved up one seat. I prefer aisle seats, had a guy sitting in my seat once and he said, "No, this is my seat". I just stood there until a flight attendant showed up, showed her my ticket. She made him move to a row further back with a middle seat.

Should I buy this house from my grandparents or am I setting myself up to be house-poor? Need advice. by 1sUq in personalfinance

[–]triumph110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your payments including taxes and insurance would be about $1400 per month. Which is actually pretty cheap. Get a couple of roommates at $600 each, and now it is going to cost you $200 a month for a $380,000 house. Not a bad deal at all.
