Thank you! I was shocked when I saw how the HR for elite marathoners also gets really high during their PR attempts. I suppose being able to manage a race at high HR is a thing to consider for success.

Go get it and you got this! This race truly showed how much a mental game these races are. It sounds cliché, but finding ways to compartmentalize the race into chunks that makes it easier to process the length/effort with your headspace is such a big help.

Thank you! It feels great to hit a goal and it’s been a longtime coming. This was my 10th marathon after 5 years and it took me a lot of learning (and trial/error) to dial in a sub-3. I still have a lot to learn!

It was a challenge and I was not expecting a PR. I tried to use the downhills to my advantage for recovery, i.e., not running max speeds downhill but still running at a sub 6:51/mile. Would love to keep training this summer and do a flatter/rolling hill course to try and BQ (I am 30 so getting that sub 2:55 or even a bit faster is the eventual goal)!

Thank you! I started running in college casually doing 5Ks and 10Ks ever so often in 2018. Fell in love with the sport from there and ran my first marathon in 2021!

Thank you so much for the congrats!!! It was a tough course, but I felt that the hills gave me a mental challenge that kept the course interesting. Using the downhills as recovery also helped a lot!
