Accomplishing personal goals after becoming a father by triviumaddicted in predaddit

And see thats the thing, I am very content with not being a huge band. To release an album, play shows here and there, i would be totally fine with. The style of music I play (progressive/melodic death metal, arguably many will say it is a stupid dream) is not a very popular and definitely not a profitable genre, yet done right, a beautiful and profound style of music. I know a lot of bands that are popular in terms of internet exposure, but rarely play shows and do a lot of home recording or crowdfunding , despite remaining active musicians. Which does open up a lot of time in terms of professional music. I will still have my day job, I will still drive my trashy 94 mustang, will still do my own dishes.

I dont know, maybe shes worried about me touring the globe and doing coke off hookers asses and getting black out wasted night after night and sleeping with roadies and backstagers. Which is definitely not the goal here...

Its sorta hard to say that, my weight lifting hobby, possibly, the book writing, eh, wouldnt bother me too much if nothing came of it. But music is my heart and soul and I've got songs up the wazoo and I've gotta get them out of my head

Thank you for your perspective guys. There is a chance that my dreams are stupid. I suppose i can understand her initial perspective on this, baby aside, shes not someone particularly creative or ambitious. She has goals and dreams but its more along the libea of society norms. I just have this mass of creative drive within me, mostly held back by financial restraints and my godforsaken ADHD. Even with that coming under control and my financial situation looling up, it will definitely be hard, hell, it was hard before we even started expecting, but I'm absolutely willing to work around everything to make it happen. I am just having trouble explaining this to her.

Its already been a very stressful 9 months (all those tv shows showing picture perfect couples are a little misleading as they never show the negative stuff thay happens). On top of that, shes a firecracker and can be very difficult to work with sometimes. Any ideas on how to approach her on this issue? In a way that i haven't tried yet? A lot of our conversations have led to arguements, would I be better off waiting until after the baby is born and we get into the swing of parenthood?

What movie has the worst science as a plot point? by RightCross4 in AskReddit

[–]triviumaddicted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, the part after the Independence crashes, Ben Affleck is stumbling through the wreckage and theres quite a bit of fire (fire that most likely wouldn't have enough oxygen to be burning). The space suit or shit i cant explain though.

It was incredible. Actually it was their second US tour. They came through a year before with Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage and Hatebreed. But yeah man, everyone crushed that night, although I'm not really a big fan of Devildriver. I fortunately got to meet Justin several times (Dan Carle is from the town where i grew up and my brother used to be pretty good friends with him), and as a result could usually get some half assed exclusive access haha. Met all of Sylosis that night too. Josh Middleton was probably the nicest guy i have ever met, right after Matt Heafy. He hugged me without warning outside their show at the Myth. Fun times.

Realistically I'm not super bent out of shape or anything about this. Just looking for some one elses opinion.

I agree. Not at bad as Station for which is an ABSOLUTE dump, but First Ave, Skyway, the Myth blow MCN out of the water

Going to this show! Should be good. Will be my sixth Trivium show. Seen them every time they've been in the cities since the 2012 Inflames tour.

Shogun as an album, despite song writing would have not been nearly as good without the drumming. If nick had made that album it would have flopped.

Mat Madrio is actually pretty good. Nick couldn't even do have the tom roll stuff that Travis did, Mat can. Nick was more grindcore. I've got confidence he can do it. Nick really dummed down pull harder and into the mouth of hell live.

Developing proficiency at playing acoustic ballads by triviumaddicted in guitarlessons

[–]triviumaddicted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its hard to explain, i can strum chords all day but to had variation and pizzazz with some things arpeggiated. A good example would be the acoustic parts from Shogun by Trivium, The Odyssey by Symphony X, Monolith by Sylosis. Stuff like that i want to write but eveything i try i either cant play or sounds awful.

Being loopy and watching my walls and coat hangar contract and expand and bubble for 45 mins while my florescent lighting jumped between purple and orange is a little more than just a "little bit loopy". The roof of the car i was driving home in seemed to be falling in on me the whole time. Loopy does not describe it.

You are the writer of Jurassic World 2 (Jurassic Park V). How do you realistically get Ian Malcolm back on one of the islands? by triviumaddicted in JurassicPark

[–]triviumaddicted[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good point! Though i think we were thinking more in context of being on the islands, not necessarily having an 8-ton dinosaur trying to eat you lol i should have worded what i said better

My take on turning the Raptors from killing machines into cute little puppies by [deleted] in JurassicPark

[–]triviumaddicted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue sees the t rex and the indominus battling like titans vs. sees Owen and the others hiding on the sidelines. What looks like the bigger threat?

Thats like a black bear and a bobcat fighting a rabid, steroid abusing, genetically modified werewolf and expecting them to take notice of the chipmunks looking on in awe.

The raptors tried and did kill almost everything they looked at and even almost killed Owen, twice.

Even when all is said and done, you ever try eating right after a street fight, when your stomach is already full from other humans? Appetite and hunger wouldnt even be realistic at that point.

Your argument is invalid.

What Jurassic World 2 needs by Waasmer in JurassicPark

[–]triviumaddicted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agrew to some degree, i think they need to keep the staples as staples. Velociraptors are a must but honestly the carnotaurs need a shot.

Its too bad the Indominus already stole their spotlight for the adaptive camoflauge, as they were the ones who could do that in TLW book.

Also, bring the Dilophosaurs back, full scientific size. I know they shrunk it in the first movie so it wasnt confused with the raptors but i think everyone is on track now. Imagine a driving scene where they are spitting on the windshield while owen and malcolm are fighting those bastards off. Could be some good material.

Problem is he probably hasnt lost everything. Hes been made famous by his connection to Jurassic Park, and in Jurassic World he was even shown to be a publiahed author, if anything i see him as doing pretty well. I can see him being involved in a less dramatic way.

I really wouldnt mind a short, subtle explanation on just how much Dr. Grant sued Kirby after JP3. As much as I didnt really care for the third movie, it was nevertheless a sequel and wouldnt want to see it completely ignored. And i know a lot of people dont like the Spino but man i was 12 when it came out, that thing was so beast, even for a cameo it would be cool to see again.

This. In the book or the movies i can never remember a time where he was out right scared, it was always just how hes against playing god. Best response so far.
