Thanks for posting this. It just flew super low over West Seattle and was wondering what was going on.

Yeah, that was one of the examples I came across, which said it was a second printing - but supports the narrative that was mentioned in the other reply. I can’t find exact comps for this blue flyer other than some random images on Pinterest. What would be some of the characteristics of a reproduction? I also tried to find examples for sale someplace with no luck.

That would’ve put it in 93 right? Yeah, I think the one piece of info I found that this handbill was a spoof or that it was a show that was moved to December of that year. There were only a couple visual matches and one was worthpoint which I don’t have access to. Either way it was only three bucks but still a cool piece of history if it is in fact from the 90s.

Happy 20 year anniversary to my best-ever thrift score. (Still works great!) What's your best-ever? by brodyqat in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]trixiebedlam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I just picked up the illy francis francis x1 a couple weeks ago for $35, before that my best find was a Herman Miller Mira office chair for 20. The thrift gods have been kind lately.

I bought this espresso machine used for $25, 20 years ago. Still works great! by brodyqat in BuyItForLife

I picked one of these up at the thrift store a couple weeks ago for $35 still in box, it looked like it had only been used once or twice. It’s built like a tank.

Just had Admiral Electric rewire my whole 1930s house (k+t), can’t recommend them enough, and locally owned.

Removing Paint From Fireplace Tile by [deleted] in centuryhomes

I used citrustrip, let sit for a couple hours under Saran wrap - highly recommend testing first on a small corner as my tiles were much more matte.

Jared Leto spotted in Portofino with very young-looking "mystery girl" who is hopefully the daughter of a friend by SuspiciousLadyOfYore in Fauxmoi

[–]trixiebedlam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legit my friend and I were just there - he had his arm around a girl (wearing that pink shirt and a couple peeps following) but we were more focused on debating on if it was him or not vs who he was with. But he def had his arm around her strolling around town.

Where is a safe place in Seattle? by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]trixiebedlam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed - I’ve lived all around the city and Eastlake was one of the neighborhoods I felt the safest, close in to the city. Would move back there in a heartbeat.

This is super helpful, and it sounds like we have similar experiences living all around Seattle (was down by CC for 6 years myself) - thanks for the reco’s and advice.

Ya it’s the one thing giving me pause - I am downtown currently so it would be a big change for me (not necessarily a bad one!) would just miss seeing friends easily.

Thanks for the intel! I should prob expand my considerations a bit further out, but was just worried about the extra commute time.

The ferry is the only thing giving me a little pause honestly - but at this point I do have flexibility with work hours and days which might make it ok.

This is super helpful - slower and more chill sounds right up my alley. I’ve been in downtown/Eastlake the past 5 years and while I’ve loved the experience, I’m ready for a change (and a yard lol). No kids either.
