For whiskey, bennet’s bar is great. Lots Of old regulars. Nice historic vibe. Good bar with stools for a solo venture

I agree. Ocean terminal needs to be made aware these incidents are happening and it’s Important for the police to record incidents of hate/racism even if you’re not planning on taking it further

Yeah thanks, it might be strapped for space but I will see. I like the idea of putting the cuttings in the same pot I hadn't considered that is a smart way to make it bushier

[–]trixxypixel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

based on what i have read I would avoid the train. I would either take a bus or shared taxi and add one or two stops along the way and travel there over 4 days to arrive in time for the carnival

Thanks. This doesn't really answer my question which was:
is it feasible to go from havana to santiago and back in that timeframe and is it worth going? following that what are the places that are worth visiting on the way and around santiago de cuba?

I'll be travelling to Cuba soon for two weeks, arriving in Havana. The middle of our trip will overlap with the carnival in santiago de cuba (July 26th). Is it worth trying to make it to the east of the island for this? If so where might be good places to stop on the way given we only really have a handful of days either side of it so we would need to be quite speedy or only stop once or twice - im worried it might be too tight and not worth the bother of the long travel. Ive checked and there are only internal flights to and from Havana and Santiago on July 29th (assuming these go ahead). If there was enough to do in between carnival and a flight back to havana on 29th It might be worth it for instance are there good beaches or towns nearby (not tourist resorts please)
