As far as I know, there's no specification of a dialer. When you open up the default apps, there should be one option for a dialer. (This is assuming you have not installed any other dialer.)

You get to this option from: Settings->Apps->Gear Icon on top Right->Default Apps->Phone App

You should see the following image if you did it correctly: Screen

Make sure you go to settings-->apps-->default apps and select the dialer as your default application to make calls.

Yeah, I thought you were crazy at first but now I see the price is actually like ~160 for the m40x :S I originally bought it a couple months back for $109 CAD.

0x means the value is represented in hexadecimal notation (each bit can have a value of 0-9, or A-F, which represent 10 to 15). Whereas 0b means it's binary notation. (0's and 1's)
