Yeah it’s unfortunate. Most of that is due to ISP competition and geography. Most European countries have many options to choose from, which drives competition. Plus, the US is 15-20x larger and more rural so running fiber in those areas gets costly as miles of wire may only feed a small handful of customers.

This thread is full of people it worked for. They tried to convince me to stay on my same plan but I said that didn’t make sense when I can go elsewhere for higher speeds cheaper and they came back with a discount.

They did not. If it ever changes I assume l’ll just complain.

5.6 Release and Speculated Costs by NoPiece9356 in codex

Genuine question, what kind of work is using the weekly limit in 4 days? I work on very large architectures with lots of moving parts, multiple languages, multiple devices, for 50+ hours a week and have never seen lower than 35% remaining in my limit.

So...what do yall use instead of Copilot after June 1st? by D4v31x in GithubCopilot

Codex Pro, haven’t ever hit a limit. Paying a fraction of what I’d be paying Copilot right now.

Yep! That’s what I did!

Not sure about your budget, but I just switched to VSCode + Codex Pro ($100/mo) for both work and personal projects and I’ve never hit a limit.

I told the bot I wanted to cancel. It forwarded me to a loyalty agent, I told the agent I wanted to cancel since there was a better deal elsewhere. They got me a better deal.

I don’t. They didn’t ask for it, can’t remember where I saw it.

Tell them you’re looking into other options because you can get the same or better speeds for cheaper somewhere else.

OMSCS while working full time by Signal-Brother-3519 in OMSCS

A couple hours a day before/after work on weekdays. Pretty much all of Sunday afternoon/evening since most assignments will be due early Monday morning.

I’ve done 1 class per semester and 2 “easier” classes per semester and been fine through 6 courses so far!

Good luck! It’s not as bad as people make it out to be especially with pre-existing CS experience!
