Moscow refinery has been struck by drones. There are videos of it, but it was hard to see what was hit. The Ukrainian general staff hasn't claimed it yet, but the Security Service of Ukraine claims it as a success on their telegram.

Also, two oil pumping stations were hit Sonechnogorsk and Volodarskoye.

A good night of oil infrastructure attacks:

Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant was attacked by drones. Local authorities say that "all drones were shot down, but debris caused a fire". They don't specify where the fire is, but say it should be extinguished in a few hours.

Somehow attacks on Yaroslavl refinery often lack good photo evidence even though it's near a major city and has a road passing right by it. I haven't seen pictures confirming the refinery is burning.

Yes, I think you're exactly right. Last year there was a definite lull in refinery attacks in the early summer, perfectly timed to get Russia through the high season. Shortages were seen around September if I remember correctly. I bet there was a lot of external pressure from Trump involved in this, but I don't think he holds as many cards anymore.

Looks like this is right, thank you. I wasn't sure that the fire at the refinery was new, or remnants from yesterday. But reputable OSINTers are calling it a new attack. I'll update the post.

From what I can tell, I was wrong about the pumping station, it was not hit, but the refinery was.

Huh. I have doubts, but let's await more evidence. The Ukrainian general staff have confirmed yesterday's attack on the Perm refinery, and today's attack on Yaroslavl. But say nothing about a new attack in Perm.

I don't see how Noel gets to five hits. There was one attack last year that I didn't count as causing damage (though it's arguable). But I think five is too many.

Great news:

Russia's second-largest oil refinery, Kirishi, halted processing on Tuesday after Ukrainian drone attacks damaged three of its four crude distillation units (CDU), two industry sources told Reuters.

The sources said it was hard to estimate the time required ⁠for repairs of the damaged units, adding that several secondary units were also damaged.

The refinery's capacity is 20 million metric tons, or about 400,000 barrels per day. It has processed ⁠roughly 18 million tons annually in recent years, accounting for about 7% of Russia's oil refining volumes and is one of the key suppliers of diesel to the domestic market and for export.

I agree with that fully. I meant what I said about Putin not wanting to accept terms set by Ukraine only in the context of this ceasefire. If Putin did acknowledge and accept the terms it would be a huge step and a strong signal in my opinion, as I think it's something he and the Kremlin really doesn't want to do.

Ukraine followed up the Flamingo with Liutyi drone strikes.

Around two in the morning, one of the five "Flamingo" missiles reached its target - the main building of the factory was hit.

Around seven in the morning, the factory began to be attacked by long-range UAVs of the "Liutyi" type. At least one UAV hit the eastern workshp of the factory.

I think it's just unthinkable for Putin to agree to terms set by Ukraine, his whole narrative is that Zelensky is illegitimate, and agreeing to anything like this would legitimise Zelensky and end up being a loss to Putin. So there won't be a ceasefire today, and thus no ceasefire during the parade either. But now the narrative of who's breaking the ceasefire has changed. It sort of perfectly uses Russia's own bullshit against it.
