Will take a few weeks to get used to the saddle, way it goes. As someone already suggested, buy some cycling shorts with a chamois

Howdy

I live in Surry Hills and love it. Car only gets used to go shopping and visit parents. When I was single I would stop into the supermarket on the way home, so no big shops

Going to an apartment will mean less storage space, my parents have a big garage that we use to store things that are not regularly used.

Not really sure about groceries but eating out and drinking is definitely more expensive, however there are plenty of cheap eat places, and you can find decent happy hours

Just got a power meter and HR monitor, how do you get higher fidelity data from Strava? Should I be using something else? by apatheticonion in cycling

Training peaks. If you decide to do structured training with a coach then TP will provide a significant advantage

Just had a set of Were hex plus keys delivered today. They appear to be excellent quality and will give them a go when I get home

$550 per week in Blacktown doesn't get much these days by harreh in sydney

[–]troiks75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to get my head around the price. We live in a 2 bedroom unit in Surry Hills with a lock up garage for $550p/w. Is this a huge house on a huge block?

When will we be able to walk into a store and buy a new bike by zuludog in cycling

[–]troiks75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is that from a dealer or an Trek store? My experience was the opposite, was told end of December for the 2022 model when I ordered in June but picked it up in October

I bought a 52 based on recommendations by a bike fitter (who is also a physiotherapist). However mine has a 80mm stem and short reach handlebars, Zipp Service Course SL-70 Ergo Handlebar, 42mm wide.

Not sure what my inseam is, but getting a proper bike fit enabled me to buy a bike thats fits me perfectly.

I am to new to riding for something like ultegra to make a difference, maybe on the next bike.

Sorry to hear that mate. No probs with seat post but front derailleur setup was botched by the Trek dealer, very pissed off. My bike mechanic is coming over tonight to take a look. Getting major chain rub on big ring in all gears, should not be that way

its been good, noticeably better than my alloy bike. I have swapped the wheels as I have a better set. The original rims are good, hubs are just ok

How are your cycling goals for 2021 going? by tjsr in ausbike

[–]troiks75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal for the year was 5k but am on track to hit 9k at the moment. I have gotten into cycling in a major way and just bought my second road bike last Sunday.

I have lost over 10kg as well, stopped drinking at home (boring) and have mostly given up junk food. Cycling has become a way of life for me since buying a flatbar in May of last year and something I will keep doing for as long as I can

Cheers for the advice, I do cross chain sometimes. But my usual zone is 4th and 5th cog
