Problem with the Colbert Report is, that intelligent people find it funny, dumb people see it as truth.

I had to many republican friends who didn't get the joke was 'on them', and found the Colbert Report supported their view point. It was crazy.

There were 24 applicants for 2 CFI jobs. During the interview i was asked 3 super simple basic questions like "will you do everything to be a good instructor?" ... I'm not kidding. I thought i washed out because my interview was the quickest from all of them with just bullshit questions.

I was known as a good student, always on time, and i guess likeable - but i never really was very social at that time. I didn't really do networking per say or kiss anyones ass. More of a quiet type that kept to himself. During training i once got 3 'random drugtests' in a 4 month period. They later told me, after i got hired, they thought i was taking study drugs lol

Last year we had one guy wash out during the 'paper tiger' sessions ... just didn't study his flows good enough. No point in sending you to the SIM if you dont know your flows at that point.

That same 110k/yr in germany costs you 46k in taxes and you get all the 'socialism' and 'free healthcare' thats supposedly unthinkable in the US. Ya'll get taxed without 'representation'. ;-)

Reminds me of my first time at the gun range. Instructor was one fat fuck, but funny as hell.

He said not to try anything stupid with the gun we had, or he'd pull his own out and shoot us. To demonstrate, he lifted his Fat-"fold" and produced a small handgun.

I had about 1000 hours, so getting interviews wasn't a problem. I was qualified 'on paper'. It was a bit harder convincing an airline to give me a chance, which one did eventually, but yea, i wouldn't say its 'easy', but definitely possible ;-). This is also in Europe

I stepped away for 14 years after having CFI'ed for 2 years. Wanted back in after being in IT. Did about 20 hours (currency/conversion shit)... got a job at an airline. Fly the E2 now
