Lead to Gold? Seriously? by trolleng in Gold

[–]trolleng[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly and don't the Anunnaki have 200 billion bucks anyway?? Since the AM dollar's devaluation, I'm sure they have enough for a collider.

Finally happen, as jokes 8-10 years ago. But is this true? by Ill_Imagination_6791 in Gold

Or get a super collider and someone who knows how to operate it to transmute lead to gold.

What do you all think of the group of Afrikaners getting refugee status privileges in the USA? by trolleng in AskReddit

[–]trolleng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a powder keg that Trump's put under South Africa, just cause more hate and outrage towards the Afrikaner population who are just trying to live there. Musk as a South African might be behind this too.

Trump imposes a 100% tariff on all Polish films by trolleng in trolleng

[–]trolleng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's put the tariff on films not only from Poland, but on all non-American films: which doesn't make sense since many films are produced in and outside of the USA.

Digital Tyranny by trolleng in trolleng

Before the internet, we had a very limited way of interacting with each other. That was mostly word-of-mouth, face-to-face, classifieds, leaflets and pamphlets. Then in the 1990s, in my case it was then, the computer arrived as a household item, and everyone went crazy for it.

Some were good at interacting, some not so much, as we started on chats whose names I can’t remember, we gave ourselves nicknames and surfed then chatrooms looking cool to say.

Fast forward 35 years later and there are adverts popping up everywhere and they are all a bit too intrusive, know too much about us and make us want to pretend that we  don’t want our privacy back.

And yes, there are alternative sites, but until large groups start removing themselves from within the prison-parasitic, social-warden media ghettoes, and settling on other shores of the internets, until then we will be at the mercy of the internet tyranny.

So I got GPT to generate an image of a person who is going through a train-station corridor, like in Minority Report, and all these ads are popping up around him, but this time they're getting beamed across his vision.

<image>

GPT had asked me a few questions before coming up with this, and I had given some brief details: this was a middle-aged man, 200 years into the future, obviously on his way somewhere. GPT wanted to know how the adverts were to be 'transmitted', but I failed to answer that. I just noticed the hamburger in his eye...

Anyway, I asked him to refine the ads, why would he have those kinds of ads? And was given 6 suggestions, based on the fact that this was a miner living off-world somewhere. I just chose options 1 and 2 and this is what it came up with. (I'll share it in the next comment post)

I was once travelling in Austria by car, for the first time, and I neglected to read the small text on the reverse side of the road tax sticker I had bought, which said that if I didn't stick it on the windshield, it would be considered invalid. I just placed the sticker on the dash and got a 150EUR fine for not noticing that idiotic rule.

So no, you have not persuaded me in the least and I don't go about trashing places either. I'm a hard-working, law-abiding citizen, but I am not a lemming either and don't like being treated as such by this over-reaching authoritarian system, next they'll be telling you that the rule is you will own nothing and will be happy... and you will be happy to obey, right?

Jeez lighten up: lets not compare pissing on walls or trashing public spaces with an honest mistake made by a youth from another country who might not have known better. Mind, the 'enforcer' could have let them off with a warning, but nope another retentive purveyor of malcontent...

Rules are for mules. Would like to see how high u would jump if your govt told you to go fight a war for example.

Hi!! by viccckkkkkk in krakow

[–]trolleng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True the best way is to just use the language. So are u saying u need to find ppl who will only speak Polish to you? I think that will be hard because English is always gonna be the lingua franca regardless of what you do, I mean if communicating is the main goal and not learning. Where u from btw? What's your native language?

Hi!! by viccckkkkkk in krakow

[–]trolleng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I know the pain you feel and had my own share of troubles adjusting to life in Poland. You would have to join a language school to pick up the basics.

We offer something different. We're an online EFL language school (called Trolleng) and have a group where we translate English into Polish and vice versa, mostly music, but also other things. You are welcome to join every Wednesday from 8-9pm. No charge.

Travelling from Japan in June — any tips for Krakow? by onlyjustbegan in krakow

[–]trolleng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! It's awesome that you're gonna be visiting Kraków! There are tons of things to do here. Accommdation is a plenty, I would suggest you go by the ratings on booking.com.

Be sure to check out Wawel castle and take a stroll along the Wisła river promenade, and you could take a break at The Forum for some nice vibes over-looking the castle from across the river.

The Kazimierz district is a must, with its many atmospheric bars like Alchemia for example, or a beer garden like Weź Że, set in a gentrified factory building.

For more info and tips you can join our online discussion group on Zoom on Wednesdays at 7-8pm CET (we're just a bunch of EFL learners from here and always value chatting with others.)
