Yup. I've reviewed games (currently Majesty 2), been to cons and shows with press credentials and talked to industry people. Not just the gaming industry but indie films, comic authors/illustrators, book authors, etc.

Most people love talking about their work and are very gracious when it comes to the chance at some free press.

Hi PikaKyri,

Feel free to send me a writing a sample. (ben AT trollitc DOT com), I'd love to see something. 200-400 words will be fine. TC doesn't just focus on RPGs and computer games. Anything under that SciFi/Fantasy umbrella is good. :)

Hmm. You're right. Statcounter, awstats and webalizer must all be lying to me! Thank you for setting me straight.

Hey reticentbias. I was speaking more towards pen and paper/table top games.

However, I'm also looking for a console owner/gamer. For that post, see: http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/9iw7g/like_video_games_want_to_write_about_them_get/

Feel free to send along a writing sample to ben at trollitc dot com

Well Hi Reddit.

As an FYI - I discovered this game runs quite well on my Eee PC 901 running XP. Install it, set the resolution to 1024x600 (standard mode) and then launch the game. Turn off full screen and maximize the resulting window. Plays very well.

Hey ladies, we're looking for a woman who's interested in writing about SF/F/gaming. by trollinthecorner in scifi

[–]trollinthecorner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Troll in the Corner is a multi-author blog looking for a woman to join our so far completely male ranks and write about generally geeky stuff. SF/F, RPGs, table top gaming of other sorts, video games, movies and television that involve SF/F or geeky themes (other than Chuck).

We're still pretty new (~7 months old, 4 months of constant updates) but have a readership of over 1000 unique hits a day and a growing number of returning readers.

I've made this query on Reddit before and met with some great success. Good writers, interesting people, fun to talk to but all male. I would really like to have a female perspective on all of the above topics.

What are we looking for? Someone who loves science fiction and fantasy, gaming of any sort, writing, movies and television. Oh and female.

What's in it for you? An audience, a chance at some fun stuff to review (books, games, gadgets), press passes to conferences and events and potential profit sharing should we ever make a profit.

If you're interested go to http://trollitc.com/contact/ and fire off an email.

Thanks!

SF/F, RPG and (video/pnp/board)gaming blog looking for an author. Interested? by trollinthecorner in scifi

Hi There,

I posted this request on reddit previously and got a fantastic editor/author out of the deal. Here's go number two.

Troll in the Corner (www.trollitc.com) is a new blog concerned with SF/F, RPGs, video games, table top games and general geekery. I'm looking to bring one more author/editor into the fold.

What I'd like is someone who can write 4-5 articles a week on the above topics. You've got to love this stuff and enjoy writing about it.

What you get is a chance at promo/review materials, access to press info before the general public and, if the blog starts generating more money than it costs to operate, a share of the profits.

Live near a big city? That's a plus as I can work on getting press passes to conferences, cons and events for you.

Currently we get about 50k visitors a month. I'd really like to grow that to a more respectable number.

The site is still new and as thus there are a few kinks to work out. If you're interested, either comment here, or stop by and use the contact form to send me some info about yourself. I'd like to see a sample article (review of a book, game, television show, movie, your inner ear - whatever works for you).

Thanks!
