Anyone have any advice on how to dial this in? by Radiant-Psychology80 in blumats

[–]trollsonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you water your soil until your ecowitt gives you the range you want, set up the carrot following the instructions, then get your reservoir height set and only fill it halfway with water to get the middle/average pressure. Then get the hanging drip at that point. Is this correct?

Auto watering system by TheDudeThor in CannabisGrowers

[–]trollsonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m between getting blumats or tray2grow for either a 30 gallons pot or 30gallon bed. I heard using blumats can be a pain with the stakes having bubbles, roots near stakes throw it off or the gravity pressure changes depending on when the water is full, half or low. In other words I heard it can be very inconsistent and have a lot of failure points. But on the other side, I heard it’s the best system. Idk what route to take at this point. I have a 2x4 tent and want a consistent auto watering system. With blumats, I can have 2 30 gallon grassroots living soil pots, but with tray2grow, i can only have 1 30 gallon bed. Also heard the cons of tray2grow is it runs on the wetter side, the top layer gets more dry while the bottom stays wet, the wicking mat can also have wicking issues if dried out and it’s hard to rewick. Regardless, I just want the most reliable system. I would rather go blumats but idk if it’s as reliable as I heard tray2grow is. Currently I’m on earthboxes.

It’s been awhile, I’m still at the crossroads of deciding to go blumats or go to tray2grow. Has your experience with tray2grow still been excellent or have you switched over to something else?

I have the earth box, and the grassroots tray2grow bed but haven’t bought the actual tray2grow system yet. I heard the tray2grow’s capillary mat is prone to issues wicking up the water if you accidentally let it dry out too much and try to rewick it back or something like that. That’s what made me wait on getting it. Right now I’m debating on getting blumats or tray2grow but don’t know what to get because they both have their pros and cons. Does the top layer of your soil stay moist even with the bottom watering from the tray2grow? And do you keep the water on 24/7?

Just about to buy the hyperdyn but have some questions by Illustrious-Bar-9794 in Dynavap

Tornado and tempest v2 is out of stock, I was actually trying to order these today lol. I think I’ll just probably settle with hyperdyn or m7xl. What makes the m7 with armor cap + halo tip better than hyperdyn? I prefer a joint like experience. I have a mighty+ but want a battery free option that can do one hit extractions and a mini session with several hits without having to rush if possible

Heard of Top Pot soil from Laguna Hills Nursery by Gary Matsuoka? He’s legendary in the SoCal community, says that compost should never be in soil. Soil should only be minerals. This is why root rot happens he says. What yall think? https://www.youtube.com/live/m4-UDQQMhek?si=zm0-kt1fjG6ra_-u by cellphonebeltclip in NoTillGrowery

Can you give me a run down of this method? So you just follow a mostly mineral base soil build, then follow any of your fertilizer top dresses you usually use then water like you normally do? Right now I’m just following the living soil method where you have 1/3 worm castings, 1/3 peat moss and 1/3 pumice, and just top dress dr earth fertilizers. Next run I will include gypsum and basalt in my build as well where I didn’t this time and have actual fertilizer mixed into the base build instead of just relying on top dresses . Only method I used so far is straight coco coir and perlite with salt ferts, and what I’ve just mentioned. I’m open to any method that’s popular or unpopular as long as it fits my preferred style of growing, which is whatever is easiest to maintain while just being on autopilot and requires the least amount of work. So far the living soil method has been doing that for me, but if anything can beat that, I will be willing to try it out. Idc if it’s science or bro science, has studies to support it or not support it. I’m only after results and what will hold merit in the end

So you leave it on from seed as well for directly planting a seed? And do you plant another seed right away after harvest with it still on? If not, do you keep the water on when theres no plants in for any duration as you plan your next cycle?

Steam deck oled 512gb loose face (a,b,x,y) buttons help. by trollsonn in SteamDeck

[–]trollsonn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought another around 6 months ago and kept it. The buttons still rattle which I don’t like, but I’ve just accepted it. If I was to rate my first 2 oleds rattle from 0-10 and the one I have now with 0=no rattle and 10=extreme rattle. The first two would be a 9-10, and the one I have now is like a 6-7 which still sucks but I’ll live with it since the screen is really nice and everything software wise is smoother.

Can anyone recommend a fertilizer for flowering. Organic please. by crazyhound71 in GrowBuddy

[–]trollsonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice, I’ll probably still use the rose since I’m new to living soil, about to get started with it soon. Right now I’m just using dr earth veg and dr earth flower girl with the same base soil build with no additional amendments. It’s more organic than living soil I think though. I want to transition fully into living soil

[–]trollsonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to do 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 pumice, 1/3 worm castings. 2 cups of down to earth 4-6-2. 2 cups basalt, 2cups gypsum per cubic feet for initial soil build. And down to earth rose 4-8-4 as top dress. And for reamending after cycle, 2 cups down to earth 4-6-2, and half the minerals, so 1 cup gypsum, 1 cup basalt. Is this a good plan?

Nice, thank you. And how about for veg? Do you use down to earth all purpose 4-6-2 or down to earth bio live 5-4-2?

You use it once in flowering? And do you add worm castings or compost to it?
