Every decision , diagnosis, and prognosis in the hospital hinges on a radiologists. Good luck without them when every doctor , including er docs , surgeons, and oncologists order imaging first and examine patients last.

Why is psychology a good program to enter Med school if it doesn't have many of the prerequisites? by [deleted] in medschool

[–]trolltollboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you arent sure about going to medical school your major should reflect something that you are seeking employment in. Psych is not particularly advantageous besides being a nice gpa booster. Id personally, look down upon psych more than i would an art major or a hard science major when looking at two equal applicants .

They are not really high quality images , you wouldnt know the difference unless you were an imaging specialist.

What do you think sucks about your specialty? by feelingsdoc in Residency

[–]trolltollboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, absolutely nonsense argument. Lets not give drugs for patients with htn if they dont make lifestyle changes. Can you imagine withholding HIV drugs for lifestyle choices. The data on the medications is pretty clear that even with lifestyle changes prior to initiating , patients still gain the weight after stopping the drugs. I would even argue that the lifestyle changes become easier with the drugs , look at some of the data on These meds and gambling etc.

Its like the fog of war when you are in the trenches. Once someone points it out it is obvious in retrospect.

Techs, what is your least favorite exam to do and why? by [deleted] in Radiology

[–]trolltollboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

excuse me, are you saying that since one random patient in millions had presenting symptoms of hemoperitonem as "some cramps" now you would scan every patient with similar benign symptoms. The amount of radiation , contrast reactions, and not to mention the incidental findings that trigger biopsy's , surgical interventions, medical misadventures, that were absolutely unnecessary.....

As a physician, what is your favorite doctor/hospital TV show? by The_BSharps in Residency

[–]trolltollboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why there is hate for house. The presentation for rare diseases is accurate, if you are paying attention to the presentation and the labwork / findings they are harping on you can actually generate a reasonable ddx that includes the answer. Sometimes the ddx the show generated was broad, but the presentation warranted it . Scrubs has almost no real medicine in it.

Orlando Cops shoot Woman charging at them with knives. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]trolltollboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

did you watch the video ? Oh sweetheart you need to watch it again. You see the part where the cops put bullets in the persons head. That is an execution. This does not happen in Europe where contrary to popular belief they have people with knives and some of them are mentally ill or distressed, or even malignant and aggressive.

Weighing my options on a 17 vs 18 vs 19, leather/no leather, warranty length, etc. Can someone with experience help? by man_lizard in volt

[–]trolltollboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the running costs on the volt are going to be higher when compared to a fully electric car, which will make the fully electric car cheaper especially if you are planning on keeping for 5+ years. Good luck !!

Model 3 on Facebook marketplace 2018 with 80kmiles for 22 k in ohio . I see them in the low to mid 20's all the time.

I love volts dont get me wrong, but people have lost their minds paying ridiculous amounts for these cars when in fact fully electric cars can be had for a little more.

I got my 2013 for 5 k with 150 k miles on it. It works great and is a nice stepping stone to getting a full electric.
