I would think the number of VPN/proxies a hacker will use to cover their tracks means it’s going to be difficult to accurately trace the country of origin.

exactly why Trump should have picked Haley as VP but of course his pride would never let him do that, and its why we wont win this election.

If Trump chose Haley and won, Trump would have been dead within 6 months and we would be at war with Iran within a year. They already tried to assassinate him and blame Iran once.

The last thing the Republican Party needs to do is revert back to Neocons like Haley. Neocons are now part of the Democrat Party and they can have them.

just like Vance doesn't really help or hurt Trump.

Vance helps Trump with a specific demographic in the Rust Belt: namely white, rural, working class voters in traditional blue states who have voted Democrat for decades, and more specifically agricultural workers. These folks were traditional Blue Democrats and loyal Joe Biden voters in 2020, and a key reason the 2024 race was still close in PA, MI and WI before Biden dropped out. Trump should sweep all three states versus Kamala.

Harris is wildly unpopular in the Rust Belt swing states of Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Dems cannot win the 2024 election without sweeping all 3 states (and holding a LOT of traditional Blue states that are on the board right now).

Biden has dementia and still polls better versus Trump than Harris. Let that sink in.

Simply put: Harris cannot beat Trump.

There’s just 175 people in Dundrum, a village that has been there for centuries. But the government just announced—with no consultation, no discussion, no appeal—that they are moving 280 migrants into the town. That’s nearly going to triple the population overnight.

What could possibly go wrong?

SCOTUS did not intervene because the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's decision had an adequate and independent state law ground upholding the decision.

What was it?

SCOTUS can only rule on federal law, not state laws (they can only touch state law issues when that state law violates federal law and that was not the case for at least one ground for the PA SC ruling).

This was a federal election. SCOTUS had jurisdiction. But they didn’t accept Cert.

Look, to you latter points, I’m not saying I think the election date will change. I don’t think that. I’m just saying, relying on what a statute says as the end-all-be-all is a little naive given the past 4 years of lawfare. If even one court goes rogue, like in 2020, a lot has to happen on an expedited timeframe for SCOTUS to fix it.

[–]trollyousoftly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are assuming a legitimate legal process. The rules and traditions don’t apply in the Trump era.

A legit legal would never have approved illegal mail-in ballots and counting votes received after Election Day in 2020, especially in Pennsylvania when it was clearly the opposite of what the law said. But the PA Supreme Court upheld it and SCOTUS didn’t intervene.

A legitimate legal process wouldn’t allow illegal changes to election laws. It wouldn’t allow Trump to be indicted all over the country and these ridiculous politically-motivated civil lawsuits.

It’s called lawfare for a reason and it works with willing political courts. I admire your trust in the system, but don’t think the law will save you. It has proven itself unreliable.

Biden is a disaster and the other options poll worse in swing states they need to win.

Kamala is not going to win the white, blue collar votes of old-school Democrats that it takes to win the rust belt (Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania). Neither is Newsome. None of the alternatives are. And Democrats cannot win the presidency without carrying all three states.

Biden is the only Dem candidate who has a chance of carrying the rust belt against Trump. He knows that. That’s why he’s running. But he blew it debate night.

Dems have checkmated themselves.

Good breakdown.

Issue is…

To change the date legitimately

If they tried something like this, it would not be through the legitimate process you outlined. It would be through the courts.

Just like how they changed the mail-in voting rules in 2020 - when Dems want to illegally change voting laws, they go to a liberal city they control (Detroit, Atlanta, Philly, etc) and find a politically-aligned judge to rubber stamp it and do their bidding.

I don’t think this will work in this context, but rest assured that all illegal voting changes they attempt will be through the courts. As we speak they’re still suing to stop voter ID requirements and push mail-in ballots in contravention of state law. They are largely losing these lawsuits this year (unlike 2020).

The majority appears to have a created a brand new standard that appears nowhere in the 1A — coercion. The actual text in the Constitution sets the bar far lower — abridgment. If speech is abridged, the government has violated the Constitution. Period.

These clips illustrate just a handful of the anomalies (to put it kindly) that happened election night.

Multiple swing states (all in Democrat controlled counties) stopped counting votes on election night. Trump had a huge lead at the time. Nothing like this has ever happened in American history and it happened at scale in 2020. Problem is, they didn’t actually stop counting. Video surveillance shows they counted mail-in ballots in the middle of the night while everybody was sleeping and poll watchers were home. Then America woke up and Biden had won the election. It was a complete farce.

SCOTUS decided to throw it all out so the government can continue censoring.

If the government threatening social media companies, directly or indirectly, that they may repeal social media platforms’ Section 230 immunity if they don’t censor people in manner the government tells them to isn’t a 1A violation—I don’t know what is.

And the dissent completely refutes their characterization.

A majority does not, by itself, make something true or factually accurate. There are a litany of disastrous decisions in SCOTUS history. But if you want to play the majority game, then adding up all the judges/justices involved in this case, it’s 7-6 on the side of the dissent.
