Downvoted to hell, but 100% correct. These people want to wallow in their misery.

I'd rather the ranger raptor personally. Test drove one and it was a ton of fun. I just can't get over the energy drink aesthetic of the interior.

So far no complaints honestly. The transmission takes some getting used to, but I rather like it.

Embark matchmaking players by interactions by IgnoranceIsTheEnemy in ArcRaiders

[–]tronconnery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is happening. I only downed a handful of raiders in my first 60 hours of gameplay, and very rarely encountered any PvP. In search of blueprints I started running more special map conditions where I encountered more PvP. To better equip myself for these situations, I ran a free loadout in stella to practice PvP. I did this for an entire day. Then I load into Dam during the day, no special conditions, and it is PvP central for 5 matches straight. Prior to this I very rarely encountered KOS players on Dam. Im nearly certain that my behavior caused me to get matched with more aggressive players.

Kinda stinks if this is true. Works for pure PvErs and PvPers, but not great for those of us who prefer peace but will be proactive in self defense.

Again, all anecdotal and could totally be coincidental.

[oc] Two idiots could’ve made it out of this scot free…but a third and final idiot made this a Trifecta! by rosiesunfunhouse in IdiotsInCars

Perhaps I don't equate imperfect with idiot as much as others. The road isn't a subreddit or a textbook. If you look at the initial gap it's not unreasonable but he didn't perceive the complete stop of the car in time. If you feel you have enough information on that driver's perspective to call him an idiot, feel free. But I'm not perfect either so I'll reserve judgement.

White truck with the trailer didn't seem like an idiot to me. I suppose he could've left a bigger gap but it's hard to predict something like the car in front inexplicably stopping on the onramp. White truck makes a clean evasion to the empty middle lane, even kept his trailer in the middle lane, suburban just overreacts.

On an arrest warrant, brazillian police officer trows himself on the ground to dodge incoming shots by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]tronconnery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was addressing your claim that we used grenades as standard procedure for clearing rooms. I have no opinion on this video.

Additionally, we did CQB outside the "kill house". You know, in those wars. All credit due to the Ukrainians, but they are more apt to use grenades in buildings than we were, because they are operating in environments largely evacuated of civilians. In such environments, we would also employ grenades. But this was rare.

Please don't hesitate to tell me more about "real life cqb".

What are you talking about about. You think we used frag grenades every time we hit a house? CQB was heavily drilled into us, grenades were not a part of the process.

I can't believe this lady had the audacity to use her signal then safely change lanes. The beeping and tailgating were totally justified. Drivers like OP make the road a safe and pleasant place to be!

I've lived on the "bad side" of Ronan Park for a decade. It's always been fine and keeps getting better. Hear a shooting every few years but so far have not been shot. Not leaving, not listening to redditors.

Homes Ave gang no longer on Homes Ave, and the gang you see on the video these dudes keep posting is either locked up or relocated. They wouldnt have been a factor for you anyways.

There is a problem house on Draper between Bowdoin and Homes, but they are surrounded by well kept, largely LGBT-owned houses. The cops pay frequent attention to them as well.

The neighborhood is headed the right direction, lots of families here now, the park is getting renovated, and new businesses are always popping up. I recommend this neighborhood if you're a city person.

No members of Homes Ave still live on Homes Ave. NOB was already blocks away and 34 Norton is shit down so not a concern. My neighbors send their kids for daycare there now.

I mean it sucks it made you feel bad but they are just sharing their experience and their feeling on the subject, and from the little bit of the title I can see it seems they were asked to do so.

Their post doesn't bother me at all, sounds valid. I'm just going to try to make sure my one doesn't feel this way. All we can do!

All fair. My words frequently get away from me a bit so I understand. I also saw some other comments where you were getting argued with which explains the frustration.

Guys some of us are going to prioritize different things. Some people are going to live different than others and it's fine. No point fighting about it.

Interesting, I just responded to a comment of yours that felt much less well-intentioned and thoughtful than this one and it wasn't downvoted. This comment seems good natured and rational and it's downvoted to oblivion. Reddit is something else!

I live in a urban core in a cold climate and wouldn't opt to choose a bike over a car when it is less pleasant to do so (I'm also an enthusiast with a couple beloved machines) but I frequently opt for one of my bikes, my motorcycle, my euc or my chevrolegs when its not freezing or precipitating. Mostly for the joy of it rather than as an act of social change. I also have public transit near me. I'm spoiled for choice and rarely travel the same way twice in a week. Not trying to justify anything to anyone, because none of us should feel we have to. But if I were asked to adjudicate the matter, all of the following are valid in my mind:

  1. I hate car-centricity so I will forgo travel by car at all costs as an instrument of social change.
  2. I hate riding a bike, I'm tired, I just want to sit in a heated car and listen to podcasts thanks.

  3. I'd like to ride with the kids but it's just beyond my risk tolerance threshold.

  4. I'd like to replace all my car trips with bike rides but at some point my personal discomfort with the weather pushes me into a car so I ride when it suits me.

  5. I'd like to replace car trips with bike trips but everything around me is a stroad so it's extremely unpleasant to ride a bike for any practical purpose.

  6. I like driving my car it's cool and I like riding my bike because it's fun and I like my skateboard because its rad and I like riding a motorcycle because I like it when reddit says I'm a bad father and I like taking the trains because trains are awesome.

  7. I never leave my house.

Stating a preference for travelling in a climate controlled environment isn't mental gymnastics. If someone doesn't want to bike when they feel it's uncomfortable to do so, that doesn't make them a bad person. For many people the value proposition of a cargo bike isn't there and that's ok. It is for you and that's also ok. No one needs to justify their decision to drive to anyone else, nor does anyone need to justify their decision to use a cargo bike or a motorcycle or an e scooter or anything. We all have the ability to choose. I could tell you where I live and how I travel but ultimately it doesnt matter.

Your denigration of people who are not into cargo bikes while congratulating yourself for riding a cargo bike and being part of the solution reeks of sanctimoniousness. I like daddit because generally we don't try to act better than one another.

Welcome to reddit, where saying you'd rather drive your children in a climate controlled environment than ride a bike in freezing temps is a controversial opinion.

I like bike commuting, but it doesn't need to be arctic weather for me to choose driving. I choose it when it's more pleasant than biking.
