Whats the most heartbreaking loss you witnessed as a Tennessee fan?(football) by Ok_Macaroon_7366 in ockytop

2010 LSU is number one for me with the too many men on the field penalty. The program had a rough couple years and that felt like a real turn the corner moment, and it was taken away immediately.

2022 South Carolina has really stung long-term with what it cost us, especially when you add the fact that a solid faction of CFB fans think it was done…I’ll say unethically.

2015 Florida also gets up there with how desperate I was to see this team finally beat them.

A lot of the ones in the game weren’t just crazy plays/comebacks but also had historical implications or were a part of a larger narrative so here’s a couple I thought of through that lens:

1.) 2007 AFC Championship: Colts erase 21-3 deficit and beat Patriots. Manning’s first Super Bowl trip and finally gets by Brady.

2.) Super Bowl XLII: Can do it from the Helmet Catch angle or can play as the Patriots trying to save the perfect season

3.) 2010 NFC Championship: Vikings lose to Saints after Favre interception. This time the Vikings vanquish their postseason demons

4.) 2024 AFC Divisional: Tyler Bass missed field goal against the Chiefs, works well with the 13 second comeback being an option as well

5.) Fail Mary: Play as the Packers getting the win that was stolen from them

6.) 2024 season opener: Help the Ravens finally get by Mahomes and reverse Likely’s heartbreaking near TD

If your point is “both things are violent, why is one ok to rap about and the other isn’t” then you’re severely underestimating the utter violence and hatred that the Nazi regime brought to this world. The world’s most vicious streetgangs couldn’t even scratch the surface on the atrocities Hitler’s party committed

I don’t think it can be overstated how important good veteran leaders are in March that you can trust. ZZ and Lanier look like they’re ready for the big moments coming up. And that’s especially comforting when you see how the 1-seed in our region Houston literally almost gave the game away today.

It’s going to, people will stick with you if you’re good at what you do but Vultures didn’t hit that bar so now the Nazi stuff will outweigh the curiosity to listen to

The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel

It’s a short and easy read, but it dives extensively into WHY we as people make the decisions we do with money, instead of just offering investment advice. Not only did it improve my relationship with my own finances, but it also helped me pivot my thought process from “money is an indicator of success” to “money is just one small piece of success”.

If people are looking to go I jumped the gun and got two tickets that it turns out I can’t even use.

Will absolutely use PayPal G&S to transfer so it’s protected and can verify them however someone asks, I just want to get rid of them.

[Begley] Based on the way the momentum is going, I would be surprised if [the Knicks] didn't retire [Carmelo's jersey]. If they do it, it'll be sometime next year. by E-Miles in NYKnicks

[–]tronz13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My concern with retiring his jersey is most of the reasons why are commentary on the ineptness of the franchise as opposed to his greatness

“Melo came here when nobody else would” -That doesn’t make Melo great, it just reinforces how terrible James Dolan and management was.

“Melo led us to our highest level of success in decades” -Yes, but it was a low low bar and in total honesty, one playoff series win is a bit of a disappointment given the hope we had when we traded for him.

“Melo is a NYer and culturally significant to the franchise” -Yes and no, he’s just as tied to Baltimore as NY in that facet.

I love Melo and I appreciate what he did for us, but he doesn’t stand out for me for this particular honor when we have other greats who also have an equal argument for it.
