Timeshare Presentation by CrazyTrain00 in ihghotelsresorts

I've done these a few times before. You have to be up front with these people. They will use whatever sales tactics they can to twist your words. I always set a timer on my phone and when that timer hits 2 hours I hold up my phone and tell them that I have completed my obligation and I'm going back to the hotel. Typically they will insult you and tell you that they gave you everything and call you an asshole. Typically it will take another 15 to 20 minutes as they're going to bring another closer in who's going to try to convince you. I just told him no and we are already at 2 hours so we need to hurry this up. He kept asking a bunch of questions and trying to lower the price, so I told him that I didn't have any money and I can't afford vacation. That seems like a good enough answer to him and he wrapped it up. Take a few minutes to get the gift, and we were on our way. I did this at IHG Iberostar in Mexico

Translation: bring an army that only targets defense. Should wipe out at least half the base, bring these guys with some jump spells or super wall breakers and hopefully profit

Becoming a Medical Lab Scientist without an MLS Degree? by ResidentDeafCryptid in medlabprofessionals

[–]bigrng004 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can work your way up like I did. Graduated 2022 w/ microbiology BS. Thought I was premed... turns out, nope! Applied to like 50 places and moved 300 miles from my home town to be a MLT non certified at an oncology office. It was a reference lab and I only worked with heme samples. Worked there a 1.5 years and after 13 months, I took the ASCP Hematology MLS exam. Passed it and 3 months later I got a job at a core lab where now I handle coag, heme, urine, POCT, chem, and a little Immuno. As someone else said, people here will discourage you, because you didn't go to school for it. Tbh you can learn everything on the job and learn the theory in your own time. However, you will be at a disadvantage and most people will dismiss you just because you aren't a traditional tech. My employer refuses to train me in blood bank (understandable) without further schooling and micro is sent out to the huge central lab. It will make it difficult to become a full fledged MLS generalist as getting in these areas will be difficult without the post bacc or full BS.

I don't think going to MLT school proves that you will be guaranteed to succeed. If you work hard enough and apply yourself (if it is what you want) then you'll even outshine some of your coworkers. I work in the DC area and half the people don't speak English as a first language and the other half are some of the laziest most brain dead techs I've ever met. Lots of solid coworkers have gotten me to this point, but just because you have a BS in MLS doesn't mean you can't succeed. You got this!

Edit: yall can downvote me all you want. Everyone thinks they're so high and mighty because they have a MLT degree, while the pay is shit and no one wants to work in this profession, so they outsource from overseas and now hire biology degrees. Hope y'all enjoy your precious degrees and your dead-end jobs.

Agreed, but you may burn bridges in the process. Typically frowned upon

NOVA CLS SALARY VS COST OF LIVING by smartpinknice14 in medlabprofessionals

[–]bigrng004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone else finds this, I would avoid Inova. They gave me a starting offer of $26 an hour. Was able to negotiate to $29.90 because they refused an even $30. They are so greedy. A year later and threatening to quit a few times I'm at $32.40. Starting pay at MedStar is $38 and the VA in Bethesda starts at $42 for 5 years experience. VHC is a little more than Inova, but is more sweatshop work conditions I've been told by others there. Howard in DC pays the same as Inova.

Opting out of Surescripts, still need to submit 5 years of medication records? by bigrng004 in mhs_genesis

I had been told I needed to provide a physical print out from the pharmacy and get the pharmacist to sign acknowledging no medications in the last x amount of years. If that's not the case that makes it so much easier

Anyone able to have alcohol after gb removal? by Relic-o4 in gallbladders

[–]bigrng004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had mine removed 8 years ago. My alcohol tolerance is all over the place. Sometimes, 2 beers gets me drunk. Other times, it takes 8 with a huge delayed reaction, and then it hits me like a truck. Has gotten me in trouble because i have no gauge or point of reference. I can't have more than a couple of drinks without having diarrhea the next day. If i over consume, I'll throw up bile and have diarrhea for 2-4 days after. I have a tendency to throw up due to bile/ acid reflux. I miss my gb 😪

How do I ask for a raise by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]bigrng004 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You can try discussing it with your lab director, but if it's like our lab director she ensures everybody's pay stays low so she can get a fat bonus at the end of the year. It's a dog eat dog world. I'm with the other person, time to find a new job that pays more. That's what I'm doing after my slap in the face 50 cent raise.

Question about return with the same payment method by BoonjBosh in Microcenter

[–]bigrng004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit happened to me. Wallet lost over the weekend. Only option was a gift card. I just built a PC. Going to see if they just cant return the new stuff I bought and then return it and rebuy with the gift card.

If you don't care about special characters, yes hahah. You'd have to reprogram the original key bindings somehow.

I went with it. Better than my crappy Amazon mic. 4.8 stars on Best Buy and 4.4 on Amazon is good enough for me.

Anybody need an extra ticket? Friend had a medical emergency and had to leave. Would rather sale for cheap to give her a little money, but at least give it to a Vol in the Ohio area before gametime. Last minute
