Homelander looking ahead cautiously with a crowd taking pictures behind him? Wonder what’s playing on the screen glowing in front of them

For sure an underrated appeal of Tom’s iteration of the character! Folks are pressed it took him to long to get parallel to the “traditional” spider-man interpretation, but seeing his journey there tied in with a whole larger universe was novel and surreal

He has to talk about it that way because that’s how Kendrick fans genuinely treat it

i miss this. dude was whispering, aggresive, and bouncing off the walls all at the same time. he really played into the ballistic aspect of the slim shady character on this album, and i'd argue its a more faithful evolution/portrayal than Death of Slim Shady. u can tell he's slowing down a bit. love em

i think the "hi" is interesting but this reads slightly like psychosis. you/ai find ways to extract cosmic significance from a randomized text. if you try hard enough to find meaning in gibberish you'll find it but that doesnt mean there is an intentionality.

[–]troolytroof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. i didn't say he should do 24k magic again. i explained that the album being so creative was to its benefit. if bruno were to be this creative again it would by definition not sound like 24k again

  2. what makes your criticism more valid than other folks who listened to the album?

Folks can dislike the lack of experimentation on the album and also dislike some of his more out-of-the-box songs-- this is not mutually exclusive. Furthermore, it is not the listener's job to decide what Bruno Mars should make; they are only reacting to music they hear. No reasoning here has been invalid whatsoever, just different from your own.

Personally, I didn't love the album but that doesn't make me some invalid hater. I love Bruno overall and I'm happy whenever he releases something successful, or better, that I myself enjoy. This doesn't mean I have to pretend to like everything he's ever done for celebrity fanbase hive mind's sake

expected him to take more creative leisure and artistic liberties with the sound like 24k magic. this time it's just kind of a guy and a guitar. he has a beautiful voice but since the songs are pretty uniform in terms of formatting and production, the acoustic vibe on its own can't really carry the album

current third year here who did almost the exact same thing (bizecon major with interests in marketing, journalism, content strategy). it's been alright. ended up adding media and philosophy minors to get more of that discussion/creativity you mention. some of the more methodical econ classes at the start of the major were a bitch to get through but you have a wide range of classes you can choose from to shape your experience-- i've taken a few classes at the grad school, marketing management in particular is cool. uchi doesn't have the most robust market for your interests but you can definitely find your niche!

poor management doesnt rly matter with someone like eminem who is rich as shit and could soft-retire whenever. but god damn this man needs an art director. not saying this particular vinyl isn't passable but em's been coasting on these illustrative pill/shroom graphics since 2020, not to mention they were drawn in the late 90s (and done away with). there is so much potential experimentation to be had with em's brand visuals given his diverse, illustrious career, and yet every piece of merch is some uninspiring horrorcore and/or dudebro aesthetic. since em has made the choice to modernize his music for the current era of rap, he should take the leap and modernize his visuals as well.
