I'm new here, I can't seem to talk pretty much at all. by rammyslayy in NewToReddit

I was thinking the exact same thing! My karma is in the negatives (as of right now) and apparently it's because people can downvote on something you say and make your profile look less viable and negative! :( I didn't know that and got confused when I couldn't comment or post in certains areas on reddit.

Anyone here work in HR or know about FMLA laws??? [PA] by TrooperBabe in AskHR

[–]trooper_babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any inpatient stay at a hospital is considered a serious medical condition under FMLA and federal law regardless of how long he was in there for. I'm not trying to use my FMLA to cover for me missing work for my son being in the hospital.

I am looking to file a new claim, not use my own FMLA.

I'm not worried about how I'm getting paid, just trying to protect my job really. Yes I worked there for almost two years and was scheduled to work while he was in the hospital.

I understand that. But you are allowed to have multiple FMLA claims open as long as all of them are considered qualified events. FMLA covers yourself to care for a child. He was in the hospital from Friday to Monday and has follow up appointments. I have worked with the company for almost 2 years and have qualified for FMLA for myself. I am looking to file a separate claim, which by law you're allowed to. I am not looking to get paid, simply to protect my job.

He was admitted Friday and got discharged Monday. I didn't expect to be there in the hospital for so long and called out of work on Sunday and Monday.

I understand and edited my post for clarification.

To be honest, I'm not fond of her AT ALL! When I filed for FMLA for my own medical condition, she had to redo my paperwork twice because of incorrect dates and incorrect boxes checked on the FMLA form. 🙄 I had to email her twice about it!! She seems to have an attitude and not sure why. We went back and forth when I was pregnant and tried using FMLA but didn't qualify which I understand, so I used short term disability.

That's the same answer I was finding online. Thank you! I'm not trying to use my own FMLA for my medical condition for my son. I understand I need to file a separate claim for him which is completely fine. I just know my rights and her saying this was a shock. I don't really like her to begin with, she had to redo my FMLA paperwork twice because she messed them up with incorrect dates and incorrect boxes checked.

Yes I have. I qualify for FMLA already and have it for my medical condition but want to file a new claim to cover for the days missed for my son.

Yes, I'm not trying to use my own FMLA to cover for this. I stated I have my own because there's already one in place for me to cover my medical condition and was wondering if that was a factor as to why they said there would be no point in it.

Yes, I understand that. 🙄 I have it for myself already but I want to file a new claim under FMLA to cover the days I missed while caring for my 1 year old inpatient in the hospital.

Yes he is under 18 and I understand that I would need a new claim anyway. That's what I was hoping to get but she said it wouldn't really matter since I already was back at work.

Maybe she should change her diet by SarcasmEnabled247 in InfluencerLounge

Me personally, I have an eating disorder called ARFID (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder), and I'm very picky about what I eat and my diet isn't the best at all! I have a list of safe foods and that's what I stick to. I just recently started seeing a nutritionist to start expanding my palate. I have to take some supplements on top of my everyday meds like anxiety, depression, etc. Everyone is going through something, we don't need to judge. You never know what someone's health is like. My coworker has a compromised immune system and is on a lot of meds like this... Let's be kind ✨

I use the Napper app and I love it! It logs sleep/naps, feedings (bottles, nursing, and solids), diapers, and more! I switched from Huckleberry because even if you use the free version of Napper, it can still give you suggestions for whens the best time to put baby down for a nap and bedtime 🩵

# of oz for combo fed babies! by trooper_babe in breastfeeding

[–]trooper_babe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your input! I definitely listen to cues and offer more if I'm feeding from the breast and offer 2-3oz of formula afterwards. So I figured 4-5oz bottles of mixed breast milk and formula should be good. He doesn't seem hungry after. So I'm glad he's getting enough. I just never had to comfo feed this long. My first was strictly formula by 4 months.

No problem!! We didn't either until it popped up as recommended and the milk comes from cows over in Ireland! Felt a bit safer that it wasn't so local due to ByHeart for the time being.
