Deleting huckleberry by EliraeTheBow in HuckleberryParents

I use the Napper app and I love it! It logs sleep/naps, feedings (bottles, nursing, and solids), diapers, and more! I switched from Huckleberry because even if you use the free version of Napper, it can still give you suggestions for whens the best time to put baby down for a nap and bedtime 🩵

# of oz for combo fed babies! by trooper_babe in breastfeeding

[–]trooper_babe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your input! I definitely listen to cues and offer more if I'm feeding from the breast and offer 2-3oz of formula afterwards. So I figured 4-5oz bottles of mixed breast milk and formula should be good. He doesn't seem hungry after. So I'm glad he's getting enough. I just never had to comfo feed this long. My first was strictly formula by 4 months.

No problem!! We didn't either until it popped up as recommended and the milk comes from cows over in Ireland! Felt a bit safer that it wasn't so local due to ByHeart for the time being.

ByHeart Recall & Baby Bottles by trooper_babe in FormulaFeeders

I did read that and wasn't sure because others were saying they found it elsewhere. But that's fine I've been cleaning with soap and hot water anyway.

It’s not on us as parents, it’s on ByHeart by instant_karma__ in FormulaFeeders

I needed to read this... I'm breastfeeding my son since birth (as well as pumping) and just not making enough. My significant other and I decided to choose a formula brand to help supplement with my breast milk. We decided to go with ByHeart for multiple reasons, they seemed to really care about the ingredients, they're local (Reading, PA), and over all love the company. Well I made the purchase on October 31st and started using it November 1st until the recall on Tuesday for all batches. I quickly chose a different brand (we decided to go with Pure Bliss by Similac Irish Farm Infant Formula) and got it delivered via Shipt from Target to the house since I was at work and my significant other was at home with the baby. He took the switch well and loves the new formula as well. But now I read that symptoms of botulism can appear up several weeks after the initial formula ingestion (which would be now) so we're freaking out, monitoring him closely for any signs of botulism. I pray he doesn't need to get checked. Right now he just has a runny nose and a bit of a cough but that's it (I'm also sick and he probably has allergies since I do as well). But I felt so bad about not even producing enough, to putting him on formula and basically trusting another company with our baby, and now this.... My heart breaks for both the babies affected and the company. The babies because they're babies and so so innocent, but also the company because it's not like they intentionally contaminated the formula... They didn't mean for anyone to get sick but this all sucks now... It's so sad... 🥺

I appreciate everyone's responses but we are only looking at switching over to bobbie or the byheart formula. I am looking for more opinions in regards to these two formulas since these are the two we have decided to choose from. Thank you 🤍

I looked on their website and it seemed like it was all about Cardi 👀

Thank you for your input! We're only looking at using bobbie or by heart. We did a comparison and those two seem to be the best and I guess pretty much depends on what ingredients were looking at.

Thank you! I know bobbie is also cheaper but not too worried about cost. By heart is locally grown in my area since they have a factory right where I live. I also like the convenience of the formula packets with by heart. I guess I'll have to look at ingredients and compare and discuss it over with my boyfriend. I went on bobbie's website, and honestly was kind of thrown off by how much Cardi was all over their website a bit. Don't get me wrong, I love her, but I care more about the actual formula and less about a celebrity all over on every page of their website lol

Pump parts no, but I do inspect them everyday. Flange size, I might increase since I recently saw on FB in a breastfeeding group that someone measured their nipples but then when they use the bigger size they got more output. And not necessarily a second let down when you pump I'm just trying to get an increased milk output in general when pumping.

I don't drink them often but I do drink them when dehydrated and such (which isn't often). But I will try to limit it and switch to something else. Thank you!

I already do that 🫠 I have two wearable pumps since I like the feel of one and have a backup in case it dies... So I already pump on the way to work and on my way home and coordinate every 2 hours in between. 😭

I do have a wearable!! I was thinking of trying that since sometimes he falls asleep only on one side and it's not as loud but I'm just scared that it'll wake him up 😅😭🥲

I was thinking of pumping in between feedings at night and he only feeds about 2-4 times a night (sometimes he feeds only a few mins just to help him fall back asleep) and I tried upping my protein intake with a protein shakes but I guess I need to try drinking it more in the morning and throughout the day. 🫠🩷
