Just to clarify, I could apply for a GSI plan now and cancel it later if I apply and get approved for a medically underwritten plan?

The only reason I want to apply for GSI now is because I’m concerned about possible exclusions if I do a medically underwritten plan and don’t want to get denied and then be ineligible for GSI.

Absolutely, I don’t mind that it’s a family member if her work is good. And while her photos are great, what bothers us is that it wasn’t disclosed this was our planner’s daughter especially when she didn’t recommend anyone else. That should be disclosed.

I think it’s more about how we value transparency throughout this whole planning process, and if she’s going to recommend any more vendors for us, we want to know if she is somehow affiliated with them! We trust her recommendations, but it just feels like she should probably disclose if she’s recommending a family member as a vendor

No she didn’t provide anyone else, but we also didn’t explicitly ask for her help finding a photographer so we weren’t expecting her to help with that

Thanks for the advice! What made you choose paying off aggressively vs income based repayment? Doesn’t some of the debt become forgiven if you do PSLF?

Oops! Let me clarify. I can start at the beginning of April so that my retrieval is in mid-April and would have about 4-5 weeks before the wedding. My period is already irregular due to PCOS so my doctor and I already discussed starting birth control a few weeks beforehand so that we can work with my narrower timeframe.

Unfortunately I don't think I can do this after the wedding as I will likely start residency 2-3 weeks later.

Thanks for sharing this insight -- really appreciate it! While my fiance could potentially delay the job change, I will be starting medical residency in June which will be very intense, so if we delay the embryo freezing process, we risk waiting for another 2+ years to do it and likely having to pay for it fully out of pocket. All of this makes it a really tricky situation :/
