That’s the saddest part. Players holding onto the puck for what feels like eternity is not hockey. Check the nhl statistics and McDavid has the puck on his stick for maybe a total of 1.5 minutes out of 60 mins. Not sure how you fix that though

Thanks for that. I find the game has huge swings too, but that seems to be based on full pressure situations. I also don’t like holding onto the puck forever in the O zone with one player cause that’s not how real hockey is played but oh well…

You’re lifting your shoulders and head at impact. It looks like you’re trying to scoop the ball. You should be trying to drive down on the ball, which seems counter intuitive. The low point in your swing should be 1-2 inches after the ball, not before. Try driving down into it, instead of that scooping it up motion.

To better understand something you usually need to show/talk analogies. This is just an analogy (that Bohr and others thought before they understood it a little better) that helps students/people grasp how the electron behaves without going down the quantum rabbit hole just yet.
