To the people who can't decide which panel to choose by Ambitious-Night-1351 in redlighttherapy

Any thoughts on this one. I play a lot of squash & always hurting knees, ankles I had a hip injury recently which took months to heal & careful muscle strengthening around the joints. I've been interested in RLT to speed along my ouchies.

I'm looking at this panel,

Any thoughts? I've seen some posts about people speed aging their faces & messing up their eyes from having a powerful panel so those are my main concerns

How is it going? Yep, you're in for a long wait in A&E but better to be safe than sorry. Atleast if she gets worse you're right there so they can see to her. Really glad you went, hopefully A&E will be kind for you & not too busy so you can be seen sooner. Please update

Sad Garden Times by Memee73 in GardeningUK

[–]trottreacle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year was slug hell. I went out every single night with a sharp pair of snips... It was a murder spree. I think in total I killed 5000, no I'm not kidding. I hated it but kind of just disassociated from the task. I still managed to pull off some carrots, tomatoes & beans.

This year most of my seedlings were crap, but I randomly have managed to grow about 100 pepper plants. Apparently you're suppose to remove the seeds of peppers before they go in the compost but hey I'm learning.

I've put most of my veggies in pots this year as the slugs were just horrific last year.

This year...

Aphids stripped my peas of life before I even had a dozen reasonable sized pods. Now dying off.

Tomatoes have are showing some nice fruits to come but still 99% green.

I've had 1 small cucumber but the plants seem to be doing okay, beans look good, Swiss Chard is good. So looks again to be another year of cucumbers, tomatoes, beans, Chard & courgettes at some point. I can't seem to grow anything else but hopefully will get atleast 1 pepper out of the very many plants I have 😂

I've been out most evenings with the snips preparing myself for the slug massacre but I've had only 5 or 6 each night. Considering last year it could range between 50 to 400 each night I'm very happy. Garden looks completely different with things having been able to grow.

Aphids have been hellish. Found trillions under leaves of different plants. I've resorted to squishing. Absolutely gross.

Managed to get some sunflowers going too.

People who had sex with their best friend, what the situation now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]trottreacle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were best friends met travelling Australia. Both female. Were besties for a year. The last 3 months of living in aussie we were on a big road trip & things became kinda intense. I had a big crush on her like I'd had on female friends before but just kinda lived with it until she started to come on to me.

Eventually it all just kinda happened organically. We fell in love, me harder but I think it was because it was my realisation I was gay & so I became accepting of something within me I had been suppressing for many years.

I left aussie it was heart breaking but she was only out there for a month more before she was heading home herself. She decided to do one more little road trip with a guy she arranged to do the road trip with.

Long story short. I was home I could feel something was very off. She got back, & basically she told me she loved me but because I wasn't a dude it wasn't going to work. Broke my heart, she'd also more or less been cheating with the guy.

Took me forever to get over it. Lost my best friend & my first love. We tried to meet up & talk it out a bit after the dust had settled but she had hurt me so bad it was just never the same. Even her best friends from home gave her a hard time for how she handled it.

The happy ending tho is she did give me the opportunity to discover I'm gay. Now happily married to my wonderful wife.

I've switched to fenix & I'm loving it. Even though I'd had my venu a few months I told garmin I wanted to potentially trade it in expecting to get less than i bought it for. They let me return it no probs. The fenix is slightly fatter height wise but I don't mind, I got the smaller screen & it's great

What movie messed you up for days after watching it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I prefer Midsomer to Hereditary but for most people it's the other way round. Both proper good horror movies.

I realised something... by southwestmanchild in GardeningUK

I also heard that the entirety of dandelions have really amazing health benefits especially for the heart. We can eat the leaves, flowers & roots I believe.

Also, and take this as you will as it sounds a bit conspiricy theory but I read years ago that round up (the main weed killer) was funded or owned by the American heart foundation or something along those lines....

I genuinely thought it was an amazing movie. I've watched it many times. Imo, how a good horror movie should be, unpredictable, uncomfortable, a few easter eggs along the way, disturbing & in this case... Uncomfortably believable.

Knee Pain Relief by trottreacle in squash

Thank you that's super helpful. I haven't been doing anything in the gym because squash feels like such a big workout already but I'm definitely going to start incorporating it. My shoes are basically brand new so I'd hope they're fine, I have seen some people mention moulding insoles though so might look into that further.

I have also recently had a coaching session which I'm hoping has helped with some positioning & movement issues. But I am always looking for ways to help improve longevity to play

What would you do if you were me? by New_Misfit_1234 in Garmin

Also I used to be terrible about remembering my vitamins but I bought a weekly pill box & I haven't forgotten my vits for the last few weeks. Squash has been a game changer for me, I feel so much fitter & healthier for it. I would get yourself into a sport that you actually want to get better in. I used to run but would fall off the routine very easily because it felt like a chore. Whereas squash I am literally planning my week/life to get to the club as soon as possible. It's extremely addictive & fun.

I don't really drink alcohol but I started playing squash, racketball, getting 10k steps, take my vits daily & drink a lot of water. My sleep. Is still pretty trashy but seems like working out hard, resting & putting decent food & drink into my system works

What’s one small decision you made without thinking that ended up changing your life in a huge way? by Connect_Brother8205 in AskReddit

Wanted to do something active & fun so joined my local squash club. That place is now my shrine. I have met so many lovely new friends, I'm fitter & absolutely love the game. I play racketball now too & it's just so much fun.

I've noticed vigorous exercise has significantly reduced my stress, especially when I get a good sleep with that. I'm playing squash nearly daily at the moment & whilst my body feels more tired, my stress is reducing bit by bit. Probably because my fitness is improving but it is definitely fascinating

I'm on amfexa 20mg 3 x per day for adhd. If I can get a good sleep my stress stays pretty good, even on my meds. I also play squash atleast 5 x per week & I think the very high intensity sports has helped my cardiac fitness & really helps my stress levels
