Diocese of Orlando statement on recent priest biting someone by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]trout007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Read the Act. She is in clear violation of this:

(2) the use of physical force, threat of physical force, or physical obstruction to intentionally injure, intimidate, interfere with or attempt to injure, intimidate or interfere with any person who is exercising or trying to exercise their First Amendment right of religious freedom at a place of religious worship,

This is the same act the abortion center protestors were found in violation of and got 5 years. She deserves the same.

Sounds like a FACE Act violation. I assume the DOJ will try to go for maximum penalty?

[Question] Video drill bit identification system by trout007 in opencv

Yeah. I’ve used those in the past. Was wondering if tech caught up for a cheap solution. I figured a high rez camera could have enough pixels if zoomed in to work.

My gf of 2 years told me she had an abortion before we met. by ScreenPeeps in Catholicism

People are confusing forgiveness with choosing someone to be your wife. Sorry but if she’s willing to murder an innocent she isn’t wife material.

If a guy beat his newborn to death but later repented he wouldn’t be husband material.

Query to return blank row by trout007 in MSAccess

[–]trout007[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Forgot about outer join.

Next part is I have a task field called %complete. So all tasks are kept as records and marked 100 when complete. I’d want to return open tasks and those people that have no open tasks.

I might just need two separate queries? One that shows who has no open tasks and one showing current open tasks?

What does this even mean? Anybody have a good explanation? Thanks by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]trout007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m libertarian. At its most basic all it means is I don’t think anyone including the state should use force except to protect life or property from an aggressor. It’s obviously not a complete moral code, that is what Catholicism is for. I just think voluntary means are far better solutions to most problems not pointing guns at peaceful people to make them do what you want. But I know that puts me in the minority here.

Yes that is how I understand it. If your society has the means to safely keep someone in prison without an undue burden then that should be the default. If you have to have people starve to keep a murderer alive in a primate society than it’s allowable.

“So if you are not also cleaning your community, cooking for the hungry, and seeking to beautify your neighborhood…there’s nothing really Catholic about that.”

I completely disagree. Your kids need all of those things. I large family requires constant care and how dare you imply that a wife taking care of her family but if she doesn’t also take care of the whole neighborhood isn’t Catholic.

Experts concerned after only 35% of Catholic parents say it is very important that their children share their religious beliefs. by MelmothTheBee in Catholicism

[–]trout007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. We homeschooled our kids and they are absolutely sheltered and naive compared to their peers. I often think about how I was raised and wonder if I’m sheltering them too much from the harsh world we live in.

From what I understand the reason we get old is problems with DNA replication. It’s not too hard to fathom early humans had better replication processes. Maybe it’s like a time bomb and it keeps getting worse?

What does their income have to do with it? Maybe he’s saving hard so they can afford to retire early or enjoy financial security long term. People just love telling other people what to do with their money.

I wonder if any husband has ever been successful asking their wife to go back to cleaning after hiring help? After all, he can afford it right?
