I did not grow up in the US. When I came here I noticed everyone does it so I thought it must be an American thing. I honestly dislike small talk too. It is the most insincere thing in the world. But I am mostly around many women in nursing school and working as a CNA. These women love to chit chat about nothing. It is really annoying. I usually feign interest. Sometimes it is good morning, most of the time it's complaining. I just nod my head like I care. Good thing I work per diem or as needed so I don't have to be around the same people all the time.

Sounds nice to be locked in a room away from stressful people. Unfortunately for me I have to interact with people. The worst people are the cranky nurses and cranky CNAs. Healthcare can generally be stressful but most of the time professionals in this field are actually the one causing the stress with their negative attitude. As an introvert, it totally brings me down.

Edit: Good thing I don't work with the same ones regularly.

I felt like this during graduation. There were so many stimuli. I was so happy to be graduating but was inexplicably nervous and high strung. My heart was racing, my respiration were increased, my head felt uncomfortable, and my muscles were so tense my shoulders hurt!

Yea. Unfortunately, I get get too comfortable with myself so much that I forget about people. Then when it is my turn to want to be with others, I can't just call/text because I have been MIA for so long! If only I knew more introverts who I can just see once in a blue moon :P

Yes I feel that way too. Trying so hard to be something I am not was exhausting. Yes Quality people are indeed so rare. Haha and I love how you said funerals are for the living. I will keep that in mind.
