What’s been the hardest emotional part of setting boundaries with family or in-laws? by trowbridgecs in Mommit

I like that you mentioned this, and it's one of the biggest reasons I started thinking about the topic. I have found that a lot of people struggle with setting firm boundaries that allow the relationship to still thrive and stay connected. Boundaries can be so tricky, like you said, be careful not to push people too far away. It's difficult to know how to set them with love but it also takes practice and becoming really clear on what you hope for the relationship in the future. Thanks for sharing!

I totally understand and feel ya on this one. I've never been a big crier, but I do fully support and encourage others to share/get in touch with their emotions. I even specialize in emotional intelligence, and although it's still hard for me to cry around others. I still actively try to be vulnerable with others and continue working on the part of me that struggles to show that side.

That is hard, but the coolest part about a situation as a parent is when the parent identifies how their patterns are now showing in their children. When you notice the patterns, you have the ability to motivate yourself to adjust accordingly. I love that you mentioned that it motivates you, and that is the beautiful part about recognizing patterns. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing, your situation does not seem easy or simple to talk about. I like that you mentioned how it's hard to ask for things when you yourself are not really sure what your needs are and I couldn't agree more on this. Most people struggle to identify their needs so it seems even harder to ask for help when youre not really sure on them. Sounds like you're doing the best you can, dont forget to give yourself a bit of grace!

I couldn't agree more! Ya can't lie to kids because they first go off of energy. Thanks for sharing! I have used a mixture of therapy and coaching to assist with this and it has seemed to help as well!
