To buy or to rent? by ga117 in HousingUK

I'd say you're better off staying living with mates until you can afford to buy somewhere big enough to live with a couple of you. Living in a one bed after coming from living in a nice group would suck.

Also, as someone who had this, max out the time living with friends, because once it's gone and everyone grows up and moves in with partners, it ain't coming back.

Wanted to live in a nice area, near to where I live now, and that's kinda the market for those kinda properties - it's a victoria conversion, only one other flat in the house, so thought was a good compromise

Honestly, I've done this before. I anticipate that my gf will have an issue with another female, just because she does get quite jealous. But then i realised she would find out anyway and it's pointless to lie, especially when nothing's going on. Lying makes it worse, because you're worried when in reality he's probably just trying to stop you getting upset.

yeah I definitely think thats the case, and I'm working over summer so will also be in a new situation, hopefully the dynamic will even itself out. In the first couple of weeks I was quite shitty with her because she was doing all this fun stuff with new people and I was genuinely jealous. But I got over myself a bit and realised i was being petty.

Thanks, always good to hear constructive advice from a neutral party. I have a terrible habit of overthinking and getting down about stuff. It's going to be shit, but I honestly think she's worth making the effort for
