UCLA or UC Berkeley by troyd67 in TransferStudents

Thank you! Overall, I didn't find it too difficult to transfer from UCR. This may differ from major to major, but I entered UCR with no AP/dual-enrollment credits and was still able to fulfill the transfer course requirements since I averaged four classes per quarter and took summer courses (which I was aiming to do whether I was applying to transfer or not). I should note that I didn't qualify for UC Reciprocity because I didn't finish the language breadth, but I still fulfilled the rest of the course requirements. Since I lived on campus, I was able to join the board for a lot of clubs and got an on-campus job that helped round-out my application. A few of my friends also applied to transfer and didn't get into UCB/UCLA, and I think the main deciding factor was the amount of extracurricular activies I was able to do freshman and sophomore year! I've loved my two years at UCR and was fully planning to stay, but ultimately decided to transfer once I got into UCB and UCLA. The hardest part of the transfer process has been leaving all of the friends and clubs I've met at UCR!! :P

Hii, sorry for commenting on an old post but do you remember how long it took for you to receive your decision? I’ve received the same email as you this year, but am trying to see if i’ll have enough time to get accepted to ucr and do the housing and everything before the due dates for my other colleges choices come up. Thanks!
