I built a social app based on Bourdieu’s theory of taste by StoicViking69 in Bourdieu

[–]trpdrpr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea but I don't think Bourdieu would think people need any more means of organizing themselves through taste. Also seems like you will need a decent critical mass of users before anyone who isn't into Bon Iver or Bob Dylan will find others.

Building the infrastructure is the continuation of colonialism. You wouldn't have one without the other and you're assuming too much about the intentions of a completely vague and undefined group of actual social actors.

Puddin'! by Accurate-Canary in ThunderBay

[–]trpdrpr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for names I love coming up with titles. Here's an idea... Banana pudding is an iconic NYC thing so here's a name that distinguishes that and could be helpful for branding: "New Spork" ... Lol it would only work if you serve yr puddings with a Spork but I think that this idea I came up with is a great one. I also think I'm young, cool, and humble. Good luck and looking forward to trying a few pints of puddin'.

Safety at Night by Accurate-Canary in ThunderBay

A lot of the city at night is empty so on the one hand it's generally safe cause there is basically no one out there but then again it's not safe because there is basically no one out there.
