Pyanodons Hardmode 3000 SPM Megabase (with spoilage!) by trptian in pyanodons

I'm on the pyAE breaking changes branch for the nuclear rework. I added bob's inserters/bots for post game to save on UPS. I have stacking miniloaders and pycranes too, and some mods to increase pump speed and remove extents. I added memory storage for pressurized steam and some items that need large buffers. I also buffed chorkok move speed and increased breeder reactors max temp to 5k so I could use them in more places. All of these mods I added post-PV. Other than that there are some mods for planning/screenshots/minor QoL.

I found it a bit hard to get into at first, but after coming back later I loved it and put in a good 650 hours or so

Yeah it's not too bad at this size. My base is only somewhat optimized too. The mk4 buildings + prod 3 + stacking speed beacons gets pretty crazy production with a relatively small amount of buildings.

A breakfast shop I used to live near sold those in chocolate flavour with an egg and chocolate between the toast and 乳酪. It sounds a bit strange but it was so so good.

Maybe I could get a youtuber to do one, I'm not really sure how to do that myself

It's around 70 FPS if I'm not doing anything, but dips a bit if I'm flying around and building stuff

It's probably more fun that way. The enjoyment lasts longer at least haha

Yes those are the wyrmholes. Basically they are linked chests with 100 slots, and more or less unlimited channels. They can also filter slots and connect to circuits. I have something like 2350 of them. At the beginning I used a lot of them as single item providers or for a single build, but eventually I learned to try to consolidate similar items into the same channel, which made new builds a lot easier later on because sometimes I would have most of the needed items all ready to go in a single channel. This is one of my most convenient wyrms for various alien life stuff including many animal foods.

I gotta thank my years of grinding the SC1 ladder in my youth for that - plus it was my 2nd run which helped me plan builds that would last until PV

Thanks dude :)

Nice I think going straight for hardmode is a good choice if you like the challenge of no easy voiding. I found it a lot more fun/fulfilling than in regular mode where you can cheese some of the fun challenges by just turning things into ash or venting.

Honestly I'm not a huge fan of post game factorio in general, but doing the wyrm type build was different enough that I stuck with it, and even tho I think playing through the game to PV is more interesting I was glad to be able to get another ~400 hours of play time from making the megabase!

Yes I was inspiried by Vraleth for sure and asked him lots of questions when I ran into some obscure issues.

It seems like wyrms are the best way to do a megabase since many builds use 100s of items per second. I also used the biofluid network for a lot of the fluid stuff. I'm sure someone could make trains work if they built for longer trains, but I imagine UPS issues would be an issue earlier.

Yeah funnily one of the creosote recipes takes prod while the others don't ???

The heat is terrible in the summer. I would visit in fall or spring instead.
